My contract expires in a week. Last year I had to call and cancel, retention was useless.
mine expires in 4. When mine expires, they offered me a "discounted deal" which is a BS. it's more than my current one. I'm planning to call them this week. Any luck on your end?

In the end, you're still paying Rogers.

I'm just shaking my head with these asymmetric plans from Rogers and Bell. The hoops and threats to retentions and convoluted billing practices is just sad. So happy we get Beanfield, 1gig up/down no contract $50/month, but I know that's not an option for a lot of people.

I’m currently on Rogers 500u ignite for $44.99/month (expiring this coming December). I just got off chat with them and they offered me what OP got. $49.99/month for 1 gigabit.

I asked about 500u and they said it’s at regular (expensive) price and they wouldn’t extend my rate for another year. So they said if I’m interested, take the new offer as “plans change from time to time and this offer may be gone”.

I’m content with 500u but I really don’t want the hassle of dealing with them again come December.

Yes.. But it's not complicated to deal with Fido IMHO.

I've been on the 150, 250, 500, and 1 gbps and you honestly will not notice any difference past the 250.

I'm paying 180 for gigabit + phone + tv (I don't use the tv, it was just "cheaper" in the package) for a year+ now. I never got more than 500 Mbps download. Often 100. The service drops at least once per day, sometimes it's up an down every 5 minutes during the whole day.
I talked to them numerous times. They keep sending technicians that are fixing the problem (when they are here I get like 900mbps down). Once they are gone, everything goes back to "normal". I'm coming from a poor country where I had FTTH 1Gb up/down 8 years ago, the price although insignificant, it's not important.
The frustration is indescribable.
If I could I would have sued someone for this... But...

Hmm.. I'm not sure whether I should tell you this, but - Rogers owns Fido :D
I do agree though, they don't care...

GTA
Just left rogers for Beanfield. 1GB unlimited, $50/month. No contract, no installation, nothing.
Added TV to it and I'm all set.

FK Rogers.

Fido does the same thing, I mean, they are the same company. You'll have to play the game to get deals. I'm paying $37 and got a $50 gift card when I signed up, so you have room to save. Switched when Rogers wouldn't give me a good deal.

Also, getting 300 down, so I'm happy with the speed.

Is there a newer modem after the brick white one (the one that looks like Xbox series x)?

Thought this was the latest.

Nice price, even better than $37.50 which Fido had a while ago for 150u.
It's the same service as Rogers 150u, just a different name on the bill.

Yes, I download games from stores like Rockstar or Epic games and can have sustain speeds of 90 to 113 MB/sec.
