Incoming text should work. Call Rogers and ask them to "unblock" text messages.

I was able to receive text messages but can't send on my tablet [Through wireless] and able to get Whatsapp working.

You can use your landline to activate. Use the option for a voice call to that number. You will hear a recording with the code.

Dunno about Rogers but on Fido my tablet plan originally claimed incoming texts were supported but they have never worked. I contacted them several times by chat and phone as well as on the Fido forums to unblock incoming texts but eventually they just said sorry, they can’t do that because it’s not supported.

I believe the only texts that are supported are Fido ones and alerts... which means they are technically supported but nonetheless so far Fido has absolutely refused to allow incoming regular texts. Mind you for me it is actually moot since I’m on an iPad which can’t receive regular SMS anyway. (I know that incoming SMS doesn’t work because I was doing the testing on a phone, not the iPad.)
