[Rogers Wireless] 4GB for $45 - Long Weekend Promo

Expiry:
February 20, 2018
Retailer:
Rogers Wireless
More offers from Rogers Wireless
Hey everyone,

Just called Rogers to see if they could PM Koodo since my Share Everything plan w/ corp discount was no longer a good deal and was offered a 4GB plan for $45/mo. It's not posted online but a long weekend promo, the agent mentioned it expires on the 20th of February. I suspect it's limited to existing customers only.

I asked the agent if I retain my current features (unlim CAN-wide calling & txting, VM, call ID, etc) and he assured me that I will - will post my confirmation once the email arrives.

Not as good as the $40/4GB deal posted a while back, but this one does not require any pre-paid porting shenanigans. GL.

Koodo is way better than Rogers because of shock free data.

Is there a $45/4gb plan from koodo for ontario? If not, I would rather have this. My phone can take care of the "shock-free" part through it's data monitoring.

Any non-rogers customers able to get this over live chat?

Existing Rogers customer - I asked for the promotions and the live chat agent asked me if I wanted the link to see the current promotions. I asked if the loyalty ones are included there (knowing that the $45 for 4gb isn't there) and he said yes..
Yes , they are mixed , please take a look on https://www.rogers.com/consumer/wireless/promotions , if there is any which suits your needs.

Edit: CSR told me the promos on my account. I asked him about a plan that's the same in price as my current ($45) and they said "this 4GB for $45 per month plan is for Rogers Pay As You Go, Fido Prepaid or chatr customers who switch to a Rogers monthly price plan. This price plan offers unlimited Canada-wide minutes, unlimited text messages and 4GB of data for $45." Advised to me to call loyalty department

Presumably this is a BYOD plan?

I was paying $60 for 10gb, I didn't think I need 10gb data, so I called Rogers csr, they transferred my call to retention department, retention department also put me on hold for 10-15 minutes, then, told me I won't get back the $60 for 10gb again once it is changed, and told me $45 for 4gb is best deal they can offer me, i took it as I didn't bother jumping around to different carriers. Save $15/month but 6gb less. I am not sure if it is hot deal or not, so didn't post it :)

Interesting!

Most people that missed that deal are REALLY upset about it, and spent a lot of time fighting with rogers for it

Go with what works best for you though, obviously!

6 gigs for $15 is a steal. I'm thinking in the future data will be higher usage and you will miss the extra 6 gigs imo for that price.

This for sure. Apps like my door bell camera streaming in HD adds to more bandwidth getting used up.

Giving up 6Gb for 15$ is a huge mistake. Everything is going HD/4K/streaming/IoT - 4gb was fine 10 years ago in 2008. Unless you're always on wifi.. this is a mistake.

If you need shock free data, then a 4 GB plan is probably not appropriate for you.

Anyways, the various companies will send out texts when you're nearing your limit, and they can't charge you more than $50 over, unless you explicitly allow it.

Got the confirmation. Hope this helps those who don't want to spend too much on their plans.
