Moved my 2 wireless lines to Bell last week, and got a call from Rogers winback yesterday. Offered me a plan of 15GB for $50 for each phone. Then, iPhone 11s at $20/month for 2 years with the option to return the phone or buyout for $190 after the 2 years. Activation fees waived. And then a $300 credit per line.

My EPP shows 20GB unl for either:
  1. $54/mth if i finance a phone
  2. $57/mth BYOD

Can you confirm if my understanding is correct on the phone financing discount? For example:
iPhone Pro 256GB
Orig cost: $1625 total cost
2yr Monthly finance $67.70
Monthly financing promotional credit $12.71
2 year financing cost w/ credit: ($67.70-12.71)*24 = $1319.76

There's no contract per se for the above, but does that mean, that if we find another plan we want to switch out to, we can switch out, but we'd have to pay out the remaining balance of the phone, at whatever # remaining months * $67.70, but we wouldn't get the monthly financing promotional credit ($12.71/mth) for the # remaining months? Ex:
I got the plan and financed the phone. 18 months in, i find a better plan. I would have to still pay off:
6 months * 67.70 = $406.20
My cost of the phone ended up being (18 months * (67.70 - 12.71)) + (6 months * 67.70) = 1396.02 vs. full 2 years w/ discount = $1319.76

Is that correct?

Also, what's everyone's thoughts on $57/mth 20GB unl BYOD? I'm currently on Fido $50/mth 15GB.

^ not sure if the 5GB extra Rogers promo is still going on tp help with your decision. i think fido did the same thing recently too. YMMV.

when signing for EPP about a month ago, got the 5GB extra by asking nicely. i think it is only temporary add-on.. not a permanent thing.
