Two final options are Rogers WE and MBNA Rewards WE. Wife works for RBC and can get WestJet WE but even at half the annual cost, it lags behind these cards.

MBNA: lacks travel insurance, 2% back, $120 annual cost
Rogers: Travel insurance, 1.5% back, $0 annual cost

Monthly I spend $2.5K to 3.5K.

Question
1) Is there any trick to redeem Capital One on travel rewards with most of rewards points in cash before closing this account? Don't want to travel during covid.
2) Is there any card that is good alternate for Capital One than Rogers?

Thanks.
Your question 1&2 are heavily discussed in cap 1 thread, take a look

So I decided to call in and try to get a credit card limit increase but I received the expect a mailed response message.
A week goes by and looks like Rogers ran a hard check...ugh, they automatically increased my limit though.

If you never consented to a hard credit check they're not allowed to do one.

I forget what the automated system message said when I dialed in.

Is August 1st still the first day of the new 15k assessment period?

Been waiting to make some big purchases until they would be counted towards that yearly total.

I have a positive balance on my account (they owe me money). They want $20 to refund me my balance.

I never heard of a credit card charging fees to refund a balance.

Doesn't seem right! Have you spoken to someone? Or useless chat?

November of 2018 I was owed I think $600, by Feb of 2019 a check was mailed out to me - no fee!

Fido mastercard though.

I had a credit balance a few months ago. The options they gave me were for them to send me a cheque, which would cost $20, or to do a direct deposit, which is free. I did the direct deposit.

What about purchasing $20 in gas or something else to use up the balance?

The fee is $20 for a cheque.

I don’t think the positive balance was $20...

We don’t know how much positive balance.

Will try to ask specifically for direct deposit. Thanks

I thought this was going to be apple/G Pay news.

I've never notified them of travel.
