The $34.99 is inclusive of the modem but + HST. Not sure what the question is as the rate only applies for 12 months unfortunately its not a two year rate - their regular rate is $127.99 but who would ever pay that. When I signed on to my account online it came up with a box that said my special rate was expiring and I could renew it now for $69.99 for the next 12 months which is what got me onto this thread. Like I said its the annual Rogers dance that we all must do for these great internet deals.
Rogers
YMMV - Home Internet - Rogers retention plan - $35, 500mbps, unlimited

Thanks. Have never been a Rogers internet customer (Teksavvy here), and have never had the experience of having to threaten cancelling every year.pwr1019 wrote: ↑ The $34.99 is inclusive of the modem but + HST. Was able to get 500u for 39.54 taxes in by calling 1-866-737-4159. Agent asked how I got the number, stone cold bluffed and said I was transfered!

I called the 1-866-737-4159 number and I renewed my 500u for $34.99 for 12 months.
Just called and said I was transferred from the customer service number on rogers website and wanted to cancel or was willing to stay based on an offer.

Called 1-866-737-4159 as my current 100mbps plan is expiring. I am paying 59.99 and was offered 150 mbps at 69.99. Asked to cancel at the end of the term and agent happily cancelled? I am in Brampton On.
Any suggestions in this scenario.

Current Ignite Gigabit plan expiring in Feb ($100/mo for internet/tv). Called 1-866-737-4159, "transferred from chat" when asked. Told them i'd like to cancel effective contract expiry unless they can offer a better deal for internet only. I was offered the $49.95/mo for 12 months. Have to exchange modems.

so you are paying 35 a month permanently for 500m cable internet? sorry didn't bother reading every page lol.
I live in Kamloops there is no choice but pay either telus or shaw. about 80 a month for me with shaw and that is considered good deal.
is rogers internet any good compare to shaw and telus? any available in lower mainland BC? trying to get my mom a deal at some point, she is like me just blindly pay asking price for these.

It seems most of them are getting the price of $35 for 12 months. I called before but they could not offer me that and offered me $70 + for 150Mmuscleking wrote: ↑ so you are paying 35 a month permanently for 500m cable internet? sorry didn't bother reading every page lol.

the only way to get $35 price is for 500m is threaten to cancel. I tried yesterday and it works , but I ended up keep my Rogers 60m $25 and they give me same 3 months free.

Anybody with Rogers, just call and threaten to cancel , it's very easy to get 500m plan $35 . If you live in apartment, you maybe able to get $29.95 as well. Call and try.

Currently on 500u for 29.99+taxes. Just tried on FB, Twitter and Rogers live chat to extend with no luck. Called the number to cancel and the agent offered 250u for 44.99+taxes and 500u for 49.99+taxes. I declined and proceeded with the cancellation. How long did it take you guys to get an email from them after you cancelled?
