33 years with Rogers. The best price for me was 151. Moved to Carrytel March 1st and don't regret it one bit. 75U is more then adequate to run a smart home and stream TV. Also 2 xbox consoles.
Yup, Carrytel is my backup plan also.
I actually had internet with them for a few days, until robbers called me and offered the 1GB retention deal.

My Rogers deal expired last month and looks like I'm not able to get anything good from them. Looks like most people here are happy with carrytel?

What TV streaming service are you guys switching to? And what box do you use? Trying to help my MIL deal with Rogers upping her bundle to almost $200. I could move to Fido for internet and phone, but don't have an answer for TV.

I've often wondered if people with cell service with Rogers are more inclined to reap the benefits of the lower bundle prices.

FWIW a relative has done well with Buzz TV for $15/month. Now that I’m having to pay for home services again seriously considering it as well.

I've been placed in a very fortunate situation, been offered a good home internet plan with both Bell or Rogers but need to choose which one.

Bell
Gigabit Fibe (1 gbps)
Activation Fee waived (-$60)
Ongoing (no promotion price end date)
$55/month

Rogers
Ignite Internet Gigabit (1 gbps)
Activation Fee waived (-$20)
1 year promotional
$40/month

Which would you recommend I take?

Rogers has the better price but after 11months you will have to go to the hassle of negotiating a new deal. If you dont want to go through that, then Bell with the ongoing promo offer

How about did you get these offers?

Don't worry about which services is better/faster, first determine how many people/devices and what they'll be using the internet for. If it's not a lot than definelty Rogers as the price is better. OH I just realized Bell deal has no end date, so definitely BELL but they'll keep increasing the price tho. I canceled on them after being with them for over 5 years. My starting price was $67 and it slowly increased to over $140.

I was going to cancel and go to CarryTel.

At first they offered $39.99 for 150 U after I called their customer relations department.

I refused and they sent me to their cancellation department. They offered $45 for 300 U and $49.99 for 500 U.

I know there are better deals to be had but I ended up with the 500 U. It was much better compared to what CarryTel had to offer and I was tired of just being on the phone (45 minutes...gah)

Best I could get in Kitchener was 300u for $62.14 taxes in, I was on an expiring plan for 150u $56.49 taxes in. Compared to the others on here in Ottawa and Toronto with these 1gb and 500u offers of $39-45 I'm a little un happy, but better than paying $75 for Bell 60mpbs or any other provider.

Hihi... do you have the contact for bell? I need to switch from Rogers to bell. I was bell for the past two years. No issues for connection. And now switch to Rogers as the price is lower. However, we had so many issues since then. Need to change modem... need to reboot twice a day.... so much trouble.
Pls kindly help!
