It's pretty standard for most companies, these days
I'm actually impressed... with Princess Auto they cancel after 20-30 days (no notice), and HD I've had two weeks of my order showing "confirmed" availability, only for a "Either you cancelled your order or something happened" vague email.

I managed to buy one after price match at the Staples. They took 5 minutes to search Rona’s website and good to go.

When I try searching Toronto, the one store with stock that shows up in Markham has it listed for $45. The Local YYC stores are also $45. Is the ability to PM dead?

Took a screenshot of a store that has it listed for $24.98, sent it to Staples chat and they managed to push through the price match. They'll credit the difference once the order confirmation comes through

I was able to find it on Rona but when I went on Staples chat they wouldn’t do it. Said they could only see the $45 price at Rona and I did try sending my screenshot but no dice.

Give them postal code P0P1P0 to look it up. I said you can order from various stores, so she just has the wrong one. Might have been lucky but it worked

Hahahahaha staples rep says that the product rona is selling is a smart speaker while the product that staples has is a 4th gen clock. So they can’t price match.

Totally agree, I was surprised she did it but it is possible. I live nowhere near that postal code so very YMMV
