Considering that the batteries cost as much as this, I dont really mind the built in non removable battery. The issue is 12v, my current yardworks trimmer is 24v and lasts at most 20 min

Review are not bad. Not for people with large lawns it appears as the battery life is not great according to most reviews, as it is only 12V.

Thanks OP.
Although I am willing to bet that B&D put a NiCad battery in this cheap trimmer, so one should expect the usual drawbacks: self-discharge when not plugged in, memory effect, low run-time, etc.

Great point...does not state what battery type ....ni-cad/lithium, so u r probably correct about the ni-cad. If anyone has used this machine, would like to hear.

Why anyone would want to trim their b & d with that is beyond me! Looks way too painful.

I have this for almost 5 years now. Good buy.
Now the battery does not hold the charge that longer but a good tool for short jobs

Mom had this one/similar one from B&D, it ran for like 10 - 15 mins.; not very powerful for edging/high grass trimming. I've choose not to use it and always brought my Echo gas unit, purchased thanks to RFD a couple years back. Mom won't use the gas unit, as she can't get it started.

This little unit is great for the elderly/seniors with a small area to do; some seniors work in their garden daily, so short run-time isn't an issue.

+1 for the price!

I picked it up today. and the guy gave me the discount.. 42.xx including tax..

drilled the holder stand in.. and its charging. Its actually pretty nice for the price.. Havent used it yet... but I never bothered to use the old corded toro one... we have a small area for trimming. I already have a B & D cordless lawnmower and love it.. so this should be good enough for me.

Picked one up this morning - lots at my local store in Kelowna - probably at least 50 of them.

As others have said - light duty and we'll be lucky to get three seasons out of our batteries, but at this price it doesn't matter.

Thanks OP!
