[Rona] Frigidaire 50 pint Dehumidifier %25 Off - ($299)

With Summer just over the horizon, many of us will be in the market to dehumidify our homes. I've been watching for this to go on sale, and haven't seen it at a lower price.

Frigidaire's dehumidifier lineup is generally at or near the top of most of the 'best dehumidifier' ratings. It's not cheap, with the 50 pint model for $299 instead of $399 at Rona. Same model is $434 at Lowes.

Model Number: FFAD5033W1
Product Specs: https://www.frigidaire.ca/Home-Comfort/ ... FAD5033W1/

Continuous drain is supported, but you need your own hose.

BE AWARE THAT RONA IS NOT ACCEPTING RETURNS UNTIL "AFTER" COVID-19. I asked them about it in-store, and they cannot state a clear definition of what "after" really means.

Out of season deals are usually the best. Let us know if you see any good buys on snowblowers!

How much noise does this make? I have an older danby and it has pretty obnoxious fan noise, unbearable near any living area.

I've had one in my basement for a year. Solid and works well. I think the noise level is fine but that's my personal opinion. I would recommend it.

According to other reviews, it's 'quiet' for a unit of this size. But still it's noisy. I'm not too worried since I'll be running this in the basement.

Does it matter where the unit is placed in the basement? Would it work the same by putting it in the middle vs corner?

Better to place it in an area where you can get the best airflow.

Yeah I'm noticing now that people must have bought them out. Not sure if all stores are out - there's no easy way to tell. But They had 14 for online puchase when I got my order in.

Take note if your buying any dehumidifier - per OPs first post the website http://www.dehumidifierbuyersguide.com/ mentions that in 2019 various US agencies changed the way they rate dehumidifiers

2020 they have to be more energy efficient and are rated at 65F rather then 80F - this means last years 70pint model is a now 50 pint model, and so on for other pintages.

From what I read these are rated on the DOE so new scale...so this 50 is the same as least years 70 essentially.
