Great for us Albertans as our ground only started to thaw. I'm pretty sure the rest of Canada has this done back in Apr/March. :D

But this is pretty much off season price. Can't speak for this model but I love my Sunjoe which is 1" less width but 2A more power.

The Yardworks and Greenworks dethatchers are 10A too so hopefully 10A for this one is sufficient. The ones at Home Depot/Canadian Tire are not on sale so it's almost double the price at $200.

Sunjoe at HD has a set of back wheels. This allows me to slightly lift the dethatcher when it comes to spots that sticks out so it won't dig it too deep. It also have 5 level of height adjustment. Comes in handy if your lawn isn't perfectly flat.

CT wants $130 for their version a couple weeks back. So this is still cheaper, especially if you combine with that $10 newsletter sign up.

I'm new to this and bought a dethatching rake. Never again!

I spent half the day and it destroyed my back (I'm 5'11). Never even knew there was an automatic tool that could do the same thing!

Good advise. I'm so surprised Ryobi doesn't have one. They have such a large array of tools.

It's also a recent discovery for me after like almost 30 years doing the manual way. I tried many law mower attachment and always become disappointed. I'm happy with my SunJoe. But I can't speak to this model.

I tried to see if Kobalt will release a 40V version (since I got a 6 batteries of various size already) of it but nada for another season. Cord sucks but since you do this once to twice a year max, it's not as big of an issue as mower or other tools.

Can't really compare to the Sunjoe since it comes with interchangeable barrels, one for dethatching and the other for scarifying. The Yardworks and Greenworks units have a leg up on this one as well. From the looks of it this unit does not have a height adjustment, so you'll have to be careful when going over high spots or uneven ground otherwise you may scalp your lawn.

This is great. Thanks for posting. I just bought this a week ago so will go back for a price adjustment. This thing works great for the price. I've been manually raking the thatch from my lawn forever, and after using this for 2 minutes I told my wife that I wish I would have bought this 10 years ago. The Sunjoe is better because it is height adjustable and has a scarifier option, but it was sold out at the time. As someone else mentioned, it has a couple vents in top that look like they need to be cleaned out on a regular basis. Other than that it works great. For $119 its a no brainer. Thx OP

price match was declined by lowes claiming "the item is currently out of stock. As per our Terms and Condition, the item must be readily available for immediate sale."
