The Best Buy 695 seems to be the sweet spot for price and features. It's one of the newer models and supports the mobile app with scheduling, etc. The 860 from Costco will probably clean better, but it's an older model with less features overall, and it's 25% more expensive.

I know a couple of 980 owners that rave about it, but it's a hard sell when I can buy almost 3 newer 695s for the same price.

Are there any differences between the Roomba 690 and the 695? They seem to be the same except that the 695 has an extra virtual wall.

Depends on if it can fit under your furniture. I have a 1400sqft open concept home and I prefer to lift up all the dining chairs and move the couches out of the way (mine are too low) so that it can really get in everywhere. I also won't let it run loose in my house. I'll have it do the main areas, recharge, then do say... my room and ensuite. I'm pretty positive it runs for a set amount of time regardless of the area it has to do so I like to chop it up to do a really good job. I also have cats so it's necessary. I love my Roomba, it has served me well, however I still always have a regular vacuum (nothing expensive) on hand for like... bathrooms. Roomba can't get beside or behind the toilet in my main bath. Or when I just want to be anal and get it done. The Roomba obviously takes a while to go through its scheduled cycle and there's times where I just want the floors done already so I can mop. Then I'll vacuum myself. But if you plan to set it and leave, or time it to clean while you're gone, it's a no brainer.

I am looking for the deal on series 8 also. But it doesn't seem like there is a deal. Disappointed.

How is everyone's experience with cleaning the Roomba? How often do you have to maintain it by clearing out the part that holds the rubbish?

Amazon.ca has their Roomba deals up now. Most prices look like they are matching everyone else's deals. The 690 with WiFi is on sale for $369.99 though which is the cheapest I've seen for that model.

Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the 614 at CanadianTire and the 618 at Walmart? Are these essentially the same model just different retailers?

This is what I came here for. I've been interested in the Xiaomi vacuums for a while, but know very little about them. Do you have one? What are your thoughts?

Does the 695 clean randomly or does it map out the room and remember where it stopped off before it charges?

I can also vouch for the Xiaomi Robot. I have a Roomba 650 and the Xiaomi Robot, and the Xiaomi leaves the Roomba in the dust. The Xiaomi has all the advanced features the top of the line Roombas have and even beats them in some aspects like battery life. Price is about only $300-$400 shipped.

It just cleans randomly, and doesn't automatically restart after charging. It's basically the 614 with wifi, scheduling and the virtual barriers.
