I usually see yield signs instead of a stop sign. I guess you are only permitted to go in once it's safe and cleared. Meaning cars on Broadway Ave. has the priority lane over Banff Rd.
Good luck!

It is an all way stop sign indeed.

I think roundabout does not matter in this situation. Or the signs were placed later on, since people had no clue how roundabouts worked.

It might be that the roundabout is placed there later and they forgot to remove the stop signs. Design of the roundabout seems a bit small though.

I don't think it is because they forgot to remove the stop signs. They have been left there for a transition period after the traffic calming mini-roundabout was installed.

The stop signs do defeat the roundabout's purpose in the primary sense, but it also serves an aesthetic role.
The converse is not true - the roundabout doesn't defeat the stop sign's purpose. They augment each other to calm traffic and help enforce the 30 km/hr speed limit on Broadway.

Stop signs probably will be removed in a year or so. No need to be replaced by yield signs as a roundabout inherently implies you have to yield to traffic already in the roundabout.

For much larger traffic circles in congested areas it is not unusual to have a controlled entry from one direction. But that's not what is going on here.
Just a case of having drivers do what they have always done pending their getting used to the new roundabout.

We have residential roundabouts in our neighborhood, and I find it's always the minivans that decide they need to slam their brakes and stop completely before entering the roundabout even with no cars around. The next intersection is an all-way stop, and they would proceed to roll through it without stopping fully. I guess the roundabout + all-ways stop makes sense for some.....

because it's not really a roundabout. It's an all-way stop with an island in the middle :p

The stop signs are necessary to allow pedestrians to cross. In a proper roundabout, the pedestrian crossing is a bigger loop around the actual roundabout. With this one there's no where for pedestrians to cross, hence the allway stop

No, pedestrian crossings at roundabouts should be marked by these.

Ding ding.. this is the answer. The circled arrow sign is just there to tell people to go around the island when turning left, instead of cutting it off on the left side.

Yeah, I used to live by there, drove that road all the time. It's an all way stop that looks like a roundy.

So funny. It is the first time for me seeing a mini roundabout like that

I drive through there daily. If those weren't stop signs there would be a lot of accidents. Even with the stop signs I see a near miss at least once a week.
