[Royal Bank] RBC Avion Visa Infinite credit card - $100 Visa Gift Card

As per Reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/r/churningcanada ... using_the/
Sign up for a new RBC Avion Visa Infinite credit card through the Rocketman app and you’ll receive 35,000 welcome points plus a $100 Visa Gift Card on approval.
First year fee $120 still applies, so you're basically looking at $20 for 35,000 RBC Rewards points. Current card holders of a list of RBC cards do not qualify
To receive 35,000 RBC Rewards points (or “welcome points”), your application for an RBC Avion Visa Infinite credit card must be received by Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”) between Feb 5, 2020 - Feb 28, 2020 (“Offer Period”), and it must be approved by RBC. Upon enrolment, 35,000 welcome points will appear on your first monthly credit card statement. Additional cardholder(s), as well as existing RBC Avion Visa Infinite or RBC Avion Visa Platinum, Cathay Pacific‡ Visa Platinum, British Airways‡ Visa Infinite, RBC Rewards Visa Preferred, RBC Rewards+ Visa, RBC Avion Visa Infinite Privilege and RBC Avion Visa Infinite Privilege for Private Banking cardholders, applying for or transferring to an RBC Avion Visa Infinite credit card or RBC Avion Visa Platinum credit card as of the start of the Offer Period, are not eligible for this offer.
Thread Summary
This is an “upon approval” promotion, so you do not need to activate nor do you need to spend with the card to trigger the 35K welcome bonus. They will appear at the first statement.

Some cards will have an early first statement, within a day after approval, and the 35K will appear online at the card’s account page before the card is delivered. Others may not cycle A first statement till a month after approval, so just be patient and wait.

So for example, if the statement cycled yesterday then the Online PDF will be available sometime later today. The points will also appear around the same time, could be before the PDF is available.

The annual fee posts on the 1st day of the next month after your approval. So it may or may not appear on your first statement, based on the timing of events.

The $100 Visa card is a new promotion that began in mid-February 2020. As of mid-March there have been no datapoints of anyone having received one yet so no need to ask when or how long it normally takes to arrive as no one knows yet. Safe to say it does not come along with the new card package.

Fine print says 'upon enrollment, 35000 welcome points will appear on your first monthly statement' so no, no MS.

There is another thread for the same offer from RBC. Only difference is the addition of Rocketman app as the middleman to get $100 GC.
The other thread : royal-bank-rbc-avion-visa-infinite-35k- ... f-2350481/

Nevertheless, this is a much better deal. Not sure of the Rocketman app though. Haven't used it yet.

Rocketman is a TTC app that RBC recently acquired. It’s pretty useful if you take transit in Toronto.

It also works in a lot of other major markets if you happen to travel and use transit.

Yeah. Just got to know when reading the Reddit thread.
I used to use Transit Now app when we were in Toronto. Now I don't take transit as I moved to Milton and drive to work.

It appears as it's a bus app for multiple locations. I checked it out and it has Edmonton bus routes on it.

Shucks, I still hold onto the RBC Rewards+ Visa, otherwise I'd probably apply for this.

How do we apply? I don’t see an option in the app to sing up or apply for this card

Just signed up and got approval, but don’t see any $100 visa gift card.
Does this come when my card arrives?

Note that this is the minimum...quite a few ways to extract more value.

I applied through OP link and not within Rocketman app and got approved. I see terms and conditions now that it must be within Rocketman app. Did I miss $100 gift card?

When can you re-apply and receive the bonus after last cancelling the card?

How are you even supposed to apply? The link says you just have to give them the same e-mail you use to apply, but it also says you have to use the app
