Can the CF or Oxford gift cards be used to buy other gift cards in store? (i.e Can I buy Amazon giftcard if I use the CF gift card at shoppers drug mart inside CF property?)

Cashed in 59,000 points
$350 Home Depot to be used on sales
$350 West Jet GC.

$700 in total value.
Best I could stretch it out to exceed that 1:1 ratio. Best bang for buck I'm thinking.

If you have a Rewards+ Visa, a few $25 GC are normally 2500 points, sale 1750. This is 70 points per dollar. amazon, Starbucks, winners, HD, etc.
If you have an Avion card, the $25 GC are all normally 3500 points, sale 2450. This is worse redemption at 98 points per dollar. Still better than any merchandise, including iPad at 25% off.
Hotels.com, AC and WJ are 70 points per dollar (70k points for $1000).

just an FYI, I did some math for Avion'ers:

I have an Avion, and the sale amount for a visa GC is 118 points/dollar (e.g. a Visa prepaid $50 gift card would cost me 5880 points)

However, I can pay off my Avion balance using points for 100 points/dollar (e.g. it would cost me 2500 points to pay off $25 dollars on my Avion).

Therefore, instead of buying a Visa GC, you should just make any purchase using your avion card (which you also get points for), and then make any repayments via points for a 100 points/dollar scale.

Just some information for RFD'ers since if you look at it from this perspective, 30% off still equals 98 points/dollar for most gift cards, which isn't that great of a deal, when you can collect points AND pay off your card at 100 points/dollar.

Edit: this points scale does not apply to anybody that doesn't have a rewards+ card, since you get a better deal.

You cant compare it to the Prepaid VISA since it is more expensive

$25 gift cards are 2,450 - so just about $1/100 or 1c per point.

Repayment of Avion balance is $25 for 4,300 so way more - 172pts/$1

edit: Ignoring Rewards+ still slightly worse than the Westjet 10% bonus offer where you got it at $1/90pts

Glad they extended offer as my Avion points just posted this afternoon from last statement, an extra $100!

Visa prepaid or not, it's still about 1 cent a point.

Repayments of avion balance (for me) is 1cent a point (eg. 25 dollars for 2500 points), so I guess it ultimately boils down to each rfd'er double checking it themselves, since it seems like RBC picks and chooses cost depending on customer.

For me, I was about to pull the trigger on buying $300 of Amazon gc's for around 30,000 points until I saw it would be the same if I had simply repaid my visa balance using points
