I am glad that I didn't jump to the previous promo with Petro, dining, groceries that ended on Aug 10th. This new promo suits me well. Just placed hotels.com gift card. $500 for 35,000 points is the best that I see so far. Hopefully, we can travel soon.

Ordered for hotels.com GC as well. Note that you can still use the GC for their sale (usually with a promo code) and still eligible to collect a night reward.

Yup, I did this in the past and earned the night award. The GC is just a method of payment which has no impact to the promo eligibility.

I redeemed 4 gc's last night and it shows they're shipped now. Very fast. I plan to combine the 4 gift cards into 1 gift card. Based on past experience, hotels.com can't process bill payments more than 1 gc.

do you just call or get in contact with hotels.com to combine them all into one after you've received them?

Thanks OP.

This looks useful.

Does anyone know if the cards have an expiry date?

Hotels.com:
Your gift card will never expire, but after 3 years, we will deactivate it and transfer the balance to a new card
BW:
Travel Cards issued for payment of the face value of the Travel Card do not expire. Travel Cards as promotional or loyalty awards or for other promotional purposes may contain an expiration date.
Fairmont:
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Willow Stream gift cards do not expire.
Can't find explicit language for the Global Gift Card.

Similar discount available on AVIS and Budget gift cards as well.

I did it several times by phoning the number on the back of the gift cards. For some reasons, I've never able to do it using the hotels.com's site while the functionality/option is there.

Does this 30% off happen every year? $250 - 17,500 pts is the sweetest conversion RBC can give.

At the same time, even hot deals are probably warmish at best given the impact to the travel industry this year.

The 30% off points for hotels GC is rare. I remembered they had it in 2018, but didn’t recall they had it last year. They regularly have 25%-30% off points for Petro, Best Buy, Food Basics, restaurants etc.

Petro Canada GC are also 30% if hotels GC are not your thing.

However, 24500pts will only get you $250 instead of $350 from hotels

They have it regularly for hotels @ 25%. 30% is rare.

Anyone knows if hotels.com send a replacement card automatically after 3 years or do we need to remind or call them?

Hi, are any of these hotel gift cards digital or are they all physical gift cards that they mail out? I need to book something in the next couple of days so if they mail physical GC then it will not make it on time for me.
