I wish they had this about a month ago. They could have really capitalized on the holiday spending.

might be a risk as it was discovered by someone on churningcanada that if you fiddle with the url you get this offer. There's no mention of this offer anywhere else.

Also, is it strange to have this going on when there's the 25k "BF" offer going on which expires nov 30?

Unfortuanetly cannot transfer to Aeroplan however the points can be transferred to British Airways Avios at a 1:1 ratio plus they often have 30% bonuses a few times a year.

To give you some insight on the use of Avios:

If you examine the distance based award chart from BA, not only are YYZ-JFK and YYZ-ORD 15,000 Avios RT but so is YVR-LAX. In 20,000 Avios RT, trips from YYZ-DAL, YYZ-MIA, YVR-DAL, and YVR-PHX can all be done with American.

With Aer Lingus, YUL-DUB can be done in a reasonable 20,000 Avios RT off-peak and 25,000 Avios RT during peak times. This is because this route just clocks in to the 2001-3000 zone.

If you can get to Seattle from Vancouver, Hawaii can be done in 25,000 Avios RT with Alaska Airlines, a partner of British Airways.

BTW, YQ (carrier surcharges) should be slim to none on routes mentioned above.

They can also be transferred to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles and WestJet at 1:1

RBC also offers a fixed redemption chart: https://www.rbcrewards.com/#!/travel/redemptionSchedule

On spending, you receive 1 point per dollar and an accelerated 1.25 on travel.

30K points can be worth $300 if redeemed on travel but you can get much more value from transferring to miles and with their fixed redemption chart.

I think based on other posts its worth a minimum of 1c/pt. More if you so transfers with bonuses.

Is this a good long term card to use? Been using it for 6 months but wondering if there are better cards out there for collecting points for travel

25K bonus was previously the best I've seen so this is a pretty good deal. Transfer to Avios during one of the transfer promos, as previously mentioned in this thread, or you can use the 30K for two short-haul flights (15K ea). Alternatively, work your way up to 35K points and you can get a flight anywhere within Canada/US (excl Alaska and Hawaii). Ticket value caps out at $750 and the taxes and fees are almost Aeroplan-level (estimate around $150 for a coast-to-coast flight), so that diminishes the value a bit.
