Runing network cable CAT6 in attic

Need some advice here: I need to run cat6 from my router to 2 other rooms through attic and then fish through the wall.
Do you know if this is ok with code? Can I just throw it on insulation or does it have to be stapled?

Personally, I'd run it off the rafters so you don't need to mess with insulation or worry about damaging it if it's buried.

Is all low voltage, so it doesn’t matter. Put it where it won’t get crimped or cut...

As long as it's CM-rated cable, I would have no trouble running Cat 6 through an attic. Like another said, I would prefer to tack unto rafters than bury under or rest on insulation.

Yes no electrical code for cat cables, but make sure they are fire rated.
