Safe and reliable $8000 max

Looking for a safe and reliable vehicle under $8000k. Ideally the vehicle would have under 120k, fuel efficient and newer than 2008. It must be an automatic

Have been looking at Suzuki SX4 hatchbacks/Grand Vitara, Subaru impreza/forester, Volkswagen Rabbit and Honda civic. Any other suggestions?

Please let me know what you have.

Thank you kindly,

SR

My suggestion is stay a mile away from Suzuki. You want something reliable and considering a Suzuki and 5+ y/o german cars? Not a good idea.

Impreza and Civics are a good start.

Thank you all for the advice, luckily I have time before i purchase a vehicle. To the sellers out there,I am looking at a late March, early April purchase unless a phenomenal deal presents itself.

I will keep looking at civics, accords, imprezas which fit my requirements and stay away from suzuki. What do you think about Volvo?

Honda or Toyota internals if you want to meet your criteria.

id go with civic very happy with my purchase but 8th gen has stepped it up ... id say Saab 9-3 loaded for its features but may be a lil $$ to maintain.

With that budget and the fact you are giving safety a priority, I highly suggest you make sure the car you will buying has VSC in it. It is industry standard now and given our winters it is essential for everyday driving.
