Picked up a 5lb one at safeway on Willingdon. Huge line up there. I say avoid going there. Also had a 2 limit.

It was a gong show in Vancouver this morning... There was a line up then when they brought out 6 pieces, the butcher said here and everyone began rushing to it... so much for a formal line... That was the end of that... All gone in 2 seconds.

This deal is almost mission impossible due to low amounts of inventory... And they way Safeway is ..

Might be sad if this safeway turns out to be a super spreader event.

I rarely put any weight on the grading. Usually just care about the cut and price/lb. But I do notice that Safeway steaks are usually less marbled compared to other stores I bought from.

Usually you can pay $1/lb more and get an AAA rib steak from the "cooler". During sales there is a huge difference in marbling between the AA and AAA steaks.

Has anyone noticed that more often than not now, grocery stores are selling prime rib steaks WITHOUT the cap... Even though the Safeway picture shows one.

Don't be surprised if the reality doesn't match the advertisement

Why wouldn't you be able to taste a difference?

You pick and choose your preferred marbling right? I've been to some sales where I just skipped buying because an AAA sale doesn't mean there'll be any good cuts.

With fewer and fewer prime rib sales near me, I’m willing to stock up on AA at this price point.

Bought 2 from Granville x 70th

Kind of pricy. Each piece was around $25-$36

That's not really how super spreader events happen, thankfully.

In the West because we do not get many sales on prime rib people go crazy when there's a sale... Sigh...

Now even Superstore and WM do not advertise prime rib anymore...

I wish they were larger pieces... This price is not great but as good as it's going to get in the West...
