Sail Outdoors: $15.xx-23.xx MSR Stowaway stainless locking camping pots (PM @ MEC)

This is a great bushcraft or camping or backpacking or bicycle touring cookset. Rugged stainless steel means you can use anything in nature to aid in cleaning up any cooking messes without worrying about scratching and rubbing off any non-stick coatings and ingesting that stuff.

The sale ends on JAN 7/2017 ( EXTENDED.)

There prices are way cheaper then MEC.ca's pricings here https://www.mec.ca/en/product/5040-046/ ... owAway-Pot

MEC's pricings are (sorry if the format is not coming out well. I'm on my phone doing this and it is hard when the broswer sometimes crashes so this is taking a long time to make)

475ml $19.00
775ml $21.00
1.1L $23.00
1.6L $30.00

I should note that the smallest sizing pot will nest in a pot two sizes up. IE: 475ml will nest in the 1.1L pot. I own the 775ml and did the price match at MEC without any issues. To be honest, the pricing on these pots are ok at regular pricings and worth it IMHO for thier versatility and rugged durability. The locking latch is secure. The lid can also be used as a frying pan if you wish and use a pair of pliers as the handle.

There is a guy on youtube by the channel name of Oshawa Bushcraft who made a coat hanger that allows you to hang the pot over a campfire or BBQ which is handy to know so you can easily adjust the temps when cooking. Also handy when doing dutch over cooking like if the fire is too hot you can hang the pot up higher then lay some coals on the top of the lid for that top/bottom even cooking/baking.

Then 475ml is good for a small day hike or everyday. The 775ml is good for solo (with a USGI canteen cup the MSR can be used as a frying pan/pot while the canteen cup covers your drinking cup)

This is how to do a field dutch oven cooking with two bowls (one does not always have to use cast iron).

Also how to clean up your pots in the field.

Don't worry about any bacteria/viruses and such as I hear some people talk about. When you boil water the heat will sterilize the whole pot.

If you like the videos, check out Dave Cantebury's channel. Learned a lot from him. He comes from a 'common man' approach which will appeal to the RFD'er as well as those that use some more gucci kit. Also some other channels to check out if you like that are:

AloneWolverine1984
Emile Learning Bushcraft
our boy Les Stroud (AKA Survivorman and a local)
Oshawa Bushcraft for his good canteen cup cooking challenge
Bushcraft Bartons (out in Quebec)

And many more that escape the top of my head at the moment.

EDIT:
Argh..page crashed. Ended up having to retype everything over like 3x already. Grrrr....

EDIT3:

I would like to note that the Wild Stove wood gasifier stove also nests inside the 775ml pot and combine that with a Trangia alcohal stove or a DIY popcan stove then you have the best of both worlds. When in the field use wood then in the city or if fuel is handy then use the alcohal stove.

There are also other compacting wood gasifier stoves out there like the Luxia something and other companies making it. https://www.amazon.com/Ohuhu174-Camping ... ting-goods
