Amazon is not Samsung's authorized retailer = no 5 years warranty, actually no warranty at all.

If you need 1TB, the WD Blue 3D is a better deal at $119.99 from Amazon.ca. It falls in the same performance category as the 860 Evo.

Anything to back up your claim?
Then should we all assume that none of the resellers, big or small, who purchased them from distributors such as Synnex, Ingram Micro, Tech Data, etc. will not be able to obtain warranty from Samsung?

Edit: Guess what?
https://www.samsung.com/ca/memory-storage/
I see Amazon.ca listed when you click "Where to buy", but I don't see Canada Computers, Mike's, etc. So does that mean the Samsung SSDs they sell wont have warranty?

That is incorrect information.

People who have problems with the Samsung warranty on amazon are the ones who buy from 3rd party sellers who source their SSDs from gray markets.
The seller of this deal is amazon.ca and the version of the SSD is the Canadian one.

Fololw this link and click "Where to buy".

Maybe amazon.ca was NOT an authorized dealer in the past.
If that's important to you, before buying, open a chat with amazon and have them confirm if there's a warranty or not for the specific item you want to buy and keep the chat as a record just in case you need it.

The odds are you will never need the warranty on a Samsung evo.
A 5-year warranty (versus the standard 3-year) is also an indication of how much confidence a manufacturer has about its product.

In any event, you can always buy from Staples.ca

It's equivalent.
djemzine wrote: Hmm price is still expensive. 500GB is $69.99 at NewEgg. I'd pick this up if it were below $50.

The 500 GB is sold out on Ebay's Newegg store.
Some people only care about a lower price just to rejuvenate an old laptop.
And for that usage, 250 GB is plenty.

I thought it was a good deal, so I posted it. I don’t post many deals, this definitely is discouraging to post more.
It’s Merry Christmas:)

Don't take it so hard, it happens.
That's why there are erasers on top of pencils.
Sorry. I didn't mean to bum you out this close to Christmas!
I hope you'll be alright and post again soon.
Peace!
