[Samsung] Free 27" Samsung curved monitor with galaxy book ion

Samsung is giving a free 27" curved monitor with the purchase of last year's 13.3" 256gv Galaxy Book ion.
The laptop itself is okay but with the monitor it seems like a steal.
Value of monitor on Amazon is 329$

Model number of monitor for reference: LC27T550FDNXZA

Total with taxes comes to around 1475$ for the laptop and monitor in Ontario.

can't tell the difference between aura silver k01 vs k02
no dimm slot so limited to the 8GB onboard right?

so $976 for a i5 10th gen entry level proc with soldered RAM, 256GB SSD and intel graphics? i guess it's fair...? or is it a steal?

the memory might be limiting.

Unless you really like the look for this laptop, I don't get why'd you buy this at this price.

At the 1k+ range you normally expect a d gpu.

The k01 is 256gb ($1299.99) and the k02 is 512gb ($1459.99)

27" 1080p curved monitor doesn't seem that special. Definitely not special enough to drop a $1000 on a mid level laptop for its category.

Welcome to RFD "drsid88".

Try not to take the downvotes personally; it's more of an opinion on the deal and RFDers are a tough crowd.

The 13.3” notebook is very thin and light which seems great. Not sure how it would compare to real workhorses from Lenovo and Dell. Lacks USB-C. Has TPM.

But why is a gaming monitor being paired with a home/office notebook? This would be a hot deal if it were a IPS panel.

Definitely not for this form factor. Maybe true if you’re thinking of a clunky 15” Acer or something.

Looks like it doesn't stack with SPC or Perkopolis, unfortunately.

Reviews of this model seems reasonably positive, I guess go for it if you really like the laptop or the monitor. Otherwise, there's plenty of AMD Renoir (4000-series) or Intel 11th gen ultrabooks to choose from in the ~$1000 range - no reason to stick with 10th gen, which has much worse graphics performance.

It's now $799.97 for 13.3 inch with 512gb at Costco. I was prepared to pay at least $1,000 for an ultra book with 256gb so this seem like a great deal. Perhaps I will use the savings toward a new tablet. Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes
