Is BB allowing you to take the phone sealed or are they insisting on opening the box?
When I got mine on Sunday, they didn't open it to do anything with it. I was porting from another company though. Left with a sealed S9, Koodo sim card, $150GC, and documentation.

They didn't for me. I mean, what if it's a gift for someone? They shouldn't require you to open it

Some people call in, but I think this member meant they clicked they wanted to pay off the tab in self serve and it let him. Many people have been able to do it the day after getting on a tab if they're existing customers past 90 days already.
Confirmed, I was able to do it after 24hrs.

Vancouver pacific center said no S9 stock. The lady there mentioned how there had been a lot of fraud with the koodo S9 last few days haha

The terms "illegal" and "fraud" sure seem to be thrown around way too loosely when it comes to people doing what they are perfectly allowed to do. Customers should throw "libel", "slander" and "defamation" around loosely too.

They open the box to activate the phone with the SIM card. You can try to tell them to not do it but I don't know if they are allowed to.
When I went to BB SW London Saturday, they didn't open the box, never even suggested it. Literally sat it on the counter while he did the online stuff, then completed transaction, handed me boxed phone and rang through giftcard.
The first rule of RFD is, you do not talk about RFD.

The second rule of RFD is, you DO NOT talk about RFD.

I don't check Kijiji or BST but I always wondered if people are listing opened boxes as "BNIB" still.

Best Buy south in London, ON had 3 iPhone 8’s left at 8am after I got mine.... so I would imagine they are sold out by now. Thanks for the heads up on this deal OP!

They left it sealed for me. Actually the girl asked if I wanted to open it or not since it is a gift. Maybe they just assumed it was for you.

My thoughts exactly. There is nothing illegal with signing up for a phone deal and following the terms, lol.

A lot of people selling phones apparently have a law degree.
