Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro now available on Samsung.ca

Was casually browsing on the Samsung site and noticed that the Galaxy XCover Pro is now available for $700. Not sure how they decided on a name like this to be honest.. sounds more like a phone case add-on.

Some notable specs:
-Removable 4050 mAh battery (YES THIS IS A MODERN SMARTPHONE)
-64GB/4GB RAM w/ microSD slot
-IP68 dust/water resistant
-Headphone jack
-Rugged and able to withstand drops from up to 1.2m

Glad a phone like this exists and hopefully it does well in sales

If it at least follows their midrange phones, should be 2 years of software updates and 3 years of security updates.

knowing Samsung with their mid-range phone, they will probably do OS update 'one time' nothing more in 2 years.

This phone would be perfect if it had 6GB or 8GB of ram, and equivalent CPU of Snapdragon 855. I wouldn't mind if it was $1000 retail if it had those those specs.

The idea of 3.5 headphone jack and removable battery in 2020 makes this phone so unique, it's too bad it doesn't have much attention online. It's too bad the industry does this on purpose.

egads, this Canadian G715W has 2 SIM slots!

Manual: "Galaxy XCover Pro will support dual SIM functionality in North America through a
future software update once the service is available."
Does that suggest carrier support is required?

Also, two programmable hardware buttons.
Fingerprint sensor side-mounted (power key)
Notification LED on top of phone.
With the IP68, drop-resistance, removable battery, this device has appeal.

Koodo has the Galaxy XCover Pro page up.
"Exclusive on Koodo"... marked up to $785, $65 'phone credit', $30/mo.
Hopefully Freedom will have it eventually (nice subsidy).
