For the price not too bad HOWEVER it does lag some and 32gb is not much at all.

Still a great tablet, the A7.
I have the A7 and the FireHD tablet. A7 is way better just because of software compatibility, and it's a bit sleeker in design, feels more premium. I got it for $170 with a few different discounts. It's a good deal at this price. It's quick and responsive for the apps I use. No idea what apps people run that make them think anything but a premium platform is too slow. :)

For the A7, the OP price is good. At $170, you did quite well.

Would the usb c port for this tablet better than the micro usb port of old for data transfers (for videos) ? I am not familiar with ports for tablets. Thank you

Samsung Geekbench (314/1408) : https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/11466235

Amazon Fire HD 10 Geekbench (302/1360) : https://tabletmonkeys.com/amazon-fire-h ... enchmarks/

iPad Gen 9 Geekbench 1334/3272

Given that the Fire HD 10 that I had lagged in a number of things, I would not even look at something that is 1/3 of the power.

I don;t believe you can compare geekbench scores from different versions like that...

Fair warning, I bought this from shoppers and was unable to return it. It's so much slower than my 2 gen old regular ipad. The interface overall was just laggy and not worth the tiny savings

This option would be $197.99 + $69.99 = $266.99 for a 10.4" version and faster processor.
I just bought this on BF for $110, tablet feels quite premium though the screen is a basic 1080p TN with somewhat poor colors. Performance switching between apps feels a little laggy vs my Galaxy S8 (phone), but in apps is fine. Sound is better than expected, probababy because of the speaker locations along the top and bottom so when you have it in landscape you have L/R speakers, I bought it for my not tech savvy mom and she's impressed, wanted to get her an iPad which would be overkill and 4-5x the cost.

As someone mentioned, longevity of a tablet is not just hardware, but also software. For that, I always check XDA for the number of custom roms available. Relying on the OEM to keep updating a device beyond 2-3 years is unrealistic as there is no profit to spend resources on updating old devices. They want you to buy a new device instead, even though the hardware is perfectly fine if the software is optimized. I am not an Apple user and can't comment on how long Apple supports a device, but I would assume it may be longer at best.

I always disable apps I don't use to help speeding up the device. Why let apps you don't use to eat the resources? I really hope OEMs don't include apps you can download from the app store.

This is the only reason why I was still using my Galaxy Tab Pro from 2014. I was able to install lineage on it after Samsung left it for dead. If not for the battery draining about 1% per minute, I would keep on using it.

I sold my old ipad and bought this for $260 earlier this year. It feels so laggy to use when switching apps, browsing web, much slower than my ipad air 2 from 2014. But it plays videos from Youtube, Netflix, Disney perfectly and that's all I care about. Wider screen and stereo speakers make this a much better device than ipad for media consumption. Overall I am happy with it, I think $200 is a great price.
