[Samsung] Samsung Galaxy Watch - 46mm -$212.49, 42mm-$186.99 [YMMV - Perkopolis/SPC account needed]

Samsung Galaxy Watch 46mm is currently on sale for $249.99 at most retailers. If you are a perkopolis or SPC member, an additional 15% discount is applicable bringing total to $212.49.

I just ordered for myself after watching some reviews on YT and seems like it is still a worthy watch in 2020. It has the same processor as latest Samsung smart watches.

Also, the 42mm version is $186.99

I have a Samsung phone but a Mac and and iPad. I'm guessing a smart watch should follow the phone and not the other electronics, right?

Yeah, Samsung which just released new watch OS and REMOVED features. Now you can't have second hand showing in ANY face in always-on display. Gee thanks Samsung. Also, if you actually use it for exercise, every two months the new version can break and mess up with your routine. Sometimes it may become better, sometimes worse. So be careful if you want to buy one of these things - what you see today may change in a month or two.

How is Galaxy Watch 3 from this version? Do you see much improvement or better to get this generation?

I picked up a galaxy watch active 2 44mm in black for $188 back in june and its a really nice watch. Works great and i get 1.5 days battery on it at best.
Chares in about an hour though so i usually just charge it up while having dinner and cleaning up then its ready to go back on my wrist.

I agree with someone else, dont just do the updates because samsung will add one feature or fix a feature but remove 1 or 2 really good features so usually not worth the update.

Apple Watch > all by far (IMO), but you NEED an iPhone. iPad or Mac doesn't count for whatever reason.

Personal opinion and I'm rambling because I feel like I'm in an old man yelling at a cloud kind of mood, but don't bother with any smartwatch that isn't Apple. WearOS (Android) is awful, feels abandoned, and can barely do basic functions right - it's comical they often have fancy screens, crummy battery life, and can't properly record a step or a squat (a simple up and down motion). Other watch operating systems are often poorly integrated with the software of the phone OS and that limits functionality a lot.

Fitness Tracker (FitBit, Garmin, Mi Band or alike), you can use whatever you want since it's not doing anything overly fancy anyways. FitBit has the best software, best looking designs, worst hardware in terms of longevity. Garmin has the best hardware (imo), software is good enough for most, but overall isn't as intuitive or stylish. Mi Band or similar tiers are the best bang for your buck if you just care about getting a vibration on your arm when you get a text or call, and doing some basic step counting - software is meh, but fills its function.

Also a active 1 40mm for 105. They were open box bestbuy however the active 2 44 was still sealed and when opening it was brand new so not sure why they were considering it open box. The active 1 had a broken seal and no charger in the box other that that couldnt tell if it was ever used.

Thanks for this! I figured Apple Watch is THE way to go. I have a Fitbit but I am completely over it. I've held off on being an iPhone person because I truly love the ability to drag and drop files and access all kinds of different file formats on my Samsung. But with the improvements to Airdrop....I might just jump ship in the next year for the sake of the ecosystem.

Can somebody with SPC post what the prices are for the various sizes of Galaxy Watch and the Galaxy Active 2? Know it's a pain, but trying to decide whether it's worth it for me to purchase SPC since I don't think I would get any other use out of it.

TIA

EDIT: Thank you very much syncmaster. Will subscribe SPC!
