hmm hard to decide if this is actually a good deal anymore.. considering the regular S8 tablet comes with standard 256gb/8gb ram.. this one... is 128gb/6gb ram..

There's no comparison between the screens... 7+ is far, far superior. You have to see it to appreciate it.

How much was the S8+ at launch, I think it was $1000? At least it came with buds2, pen/keyboard.

Screen better or not, the value composition for the S7+ doesn't seem great. Maybe if this was $650, it would be more attractive. But $773, you still have less storage than a standard S8/S8+, less ram which is important on android platform, and a generation behind in processing power.

Where did you get this? All of the Tab S8 models start at 128gb storage. Only certain colors are 256gb exclusives.

Perkopolis store doesn't list memory but I am under the impression that base memory is 8gb.

Perkopolis prices:
Tab S8 128gb: $809.99 / Tab S8 256gb: $899.99
Tab S8+ 128gb: $1,034.99 / Tab S8+ 256gb: $1,124.99
Tab S8 Ultra is not currently listed.

oh weird, my perkopolis site was only listing 256gb a while ago, I guess they were sold out of the 128gb when I checked. Some of the prices also seem higher than during release as well.

Anyways, there was save $50 dollars coupon for people that signed up for newsletter, and some bonuses tossed in at launch.. googling specs, 8gb ram was in the S8 models standard.

My opinion is that if you are still considering S7+, you have to factor in all the other specs, to see if this deal still justify it's current market value. I just feel that if it was $650 ( which was cost of S7 ) for S7+, the pricing would be more attractive.. but sitting still at almost $800, it's a hard swallow even if the screen is better than the S7/S8.

Tab8 should be standard 8gb ram though:

I bought the tabs8 for less with all the promo codes and perkopolis discounts ,($858 taxes in, Ontario), and it will get 5 years of updates. Size is perfect for me to hold while two handed typing in portrait mode.

The AMOLED on the plus models is better(darker blacks) but the LCD on the S8 is quite good and can get very dim or bright. IMO the amoled vs LCD S8 complaints are overblown when I do a side by side with my S21U (which is amoled). Regardless I would never give up the ability to hold and twohand type, (S7/8+, is too big for me to do this).

There's never been a time where I've wanted to return my S8.

Yes , new tablets get 4 years OS, and 1 additional year security updates on top (5yr total) Big move in the Android space and really got me over the edge in buying one.

You can get the S8 cheaper by going through perkopolis(account required) or student beans (no account required for this-check the tab s8 thread for url). These give 10% off the price, and you can combine this discount with a $50off coupon, plenty of those were floating around the S22 and S8 threads here at RFD.

Preorders also got the keyboard cover and buds2 so it was a decent deal, not sure if that's still going on.

Gotta compare apples to apples, S7+ to S8+ not regular S8. Has the bigger OLED screen.

Tab S8+ 128gb: $1,034.99 with keyboard and bud 2 vs Tab S7+ $773. I will say Tab S8+ is a better deal even more money due to 4 years update & security.

The S8 has a better processor and 2gb extra RAM. But the S7+ has a bigger amoled screen, 12.4 inches instead of 11 inch lcd. The S7+ also has a bigger battery.

I bought the S7+ for 790+ taxes on black friday. I use it mostly to read books so the Amoled is essential to me. I don't consider storage an issue since they all have a microsd slot. If you game, I guess the RAM and slightly better processor is better. If you read and watch movies primarily, the bigger amoled is better. If you use DEX and use it as a laptop replacement, bigger is better too. Depends on the use case.
