How long did it take you to get this one?

Shipping from china, is 3-5 weeks. But you can get V911 from ebay resellers and have it sooner, at extra cost.

I'm interested in getting one of these. I'm willing to spend about 40 bucks give or take and am a beginner. I would like a rechargable battery and something pretty durable. Is the op one a good beat, or what was that V911 one talked about this page? I also want an rc boat for my cottage if anyone has any info on that :)

edit: how's this one?

I'm tempted to get this. I have done my fair share of research. Blade MSRx, Genius CP. It is easy to get in to the 200$ range with these mini helis. Honestly the main reason I have not bought one is because I want to see it before I buy it, and have it when I do buy it :) Also it might be easier to buy the blade as many parts are available locally and would not have to wait for another month long China shipment.

Still up in the air. It is still 40 n aliexpress.com

Blade MSRx, Genius CP are 6ch helicopter. Those are for not for beginners. You need to have skills and knowledge for those micro 3d helicopters. At 200-250$ better be sure you like rc helicopter....

If you're starting, the v911 is pretty solid. Of course, you cannot buy parts locally. Be smart, order a spare tail motor, a canopy.... because with my 3-4 crash per flight that i do  . Those are the only parts that i've broke.

Even with those parts, it will be cheaper than other helicopters of this kind. At 50-60$ and a month waiting, you"ll known if you love flying copter. If you do, you'll have pilot skill and knowledge for repairing those small copter. Than consider those mini 3d copters. Even understructible Genius CP do need care and do break sometimes.

I've seen similar 4 channel ones at Giant Tiger for $30. Was going to get me one for Christmas until I saw the remotes use 6 batteries.

Not sure if these are the same or not but the ones at Giant Tiger actually looked better IMO.

How does the build quality of the V911 batteries compare to the batteries provided by other manufacturers like Blade, Esky, etc ? I'm worried that the Lipo battery might be a risky issue if the quality of the battery is in question.

How do you charge the battery - with a USB connection ? If so, how long does it take to charge ?

Bump for this as well.

I have a DX6i. I wonder if it can be paired? Has anyone found any info on this? I am googling right now, but nothing so far.

$24 is a nice price.

UPDATE: I googled some and found that this heli cannot be paired with the Spektrum DSM2 (i.e. DX6i) since it is a rebranding of Solo Pro helis and they have their own frequency. bummer.

you can get the rtf v911 here for 42.95: http://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-New-W ... 36779.html

use coupon code: d736c8 to bring total down to $39.94 shipped. Discount code is set to expire this Sunday, April 15/2012

on a side note does anyone know if this will pair with a solo pro transmitter? my solo pro seems to have a bad servo, not worth cost to repair it with a new receiver board

Thanks for the link. Anyone knows if that site is trustworthy? Because the domain name sounds like a porno film.

lol i ordered one off there today. paid with paypal so worst case ill file a claim if its not here by 45days. quick googling shows an array of reviews from good to never got item. typical reviews though for this type of retailer (ala dealextreme/focal price, etc). sites been registered since 2008 though according to whois.

edit: looking through the site, the product pages have customer submitted reviews (look to be legit) and also customer submitted photos of product. i dont think theres anything to worry about. just the typical risks you take ordering with unregistered airmail/no tracking from china.

I would be weary of the site. If you have concerns you could ask theapplereviewer (OP). He has connections...

dealextreme has it for 43.70: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/wltoys-v91 ... 220?item=2

but beware this is a mode 1 transmitter, not mode 2. mode 2 is what most rc choppers/planes use here which is throttle and rudder on left stick. if you get this one off deal extreme the controls will likely be different to what youre used to. better get a mode 2 model from elsewhere
