Why would they lower the price during a high demand time (lunch time)?

Huge Pieces compared to KFC
Also Breast and Thigh for $2.49 is fair game when KFC charges for white meat

Not usually a fan of supermarket fried chicken but haven't tried SOF's version. Are these any good?

I came to ask the same thing. I've never had a grocery store fried chicken that wasn't awful!

Marketing. To get everyone to come in and conveniently do their grocery early before stopping by another competitor store. Just like IKEA and Costco selling cheap hot dogs and ice creams to attract customers to come in early.

Didn't even know Save On Foods has fryers. At least at my location everything is baked in their big rotisserie ovens. Hope my location has it to try out as their baked onion rings taste like ass

I was just in the Ladner location. Didn't see any signs and asked the Asst Manager. She wasn't aware of any lunch deals so this might be a YMMV based on the location.

Most SOF still have the meat counter happy hour though which have some good deals

I always feel their fried chicken is very dry, not worth it but for this price I might give it another go, can’t go wrong for that price. Chicken plus wedges

Edit: I think only certain stores have it, not all

Its not bad. Their chicken strips and wedges are really good though.

If anyone is confused, this is a Western Canada chain. No locations east of Manitoba.

this would be likely be locations that have the new fancy deli areas. they are renovating stores to have these now where there is a large selection of fresh chicken/steak/shrimp/sausage and they have daily deals. a few in Edmonton have these counters now, and my location is under renos right now.

Great deal! It is not in all the stores...YMMV for sure. i live in the Tri-cities area but it is not available in the stores near me. i went to the Maple Ridge Store (west) and they have the deal. My friend in White Rock said that it is available in that store too.
