Scam - fake Roots site rootssale.club

I clicked a Facebook ad and was directed to a site which looked very much like the legit Roots site. But the prices were so low that it made me suspicious. I then checked the URL and sure enough it's a fake site.

Definitely a fake site! Thanks for the good eye!
Most likely set up to take your money and never bother to send you anything...OR send you something fake!

The real deal if you want a discount can be found here, and only here: https://www.roots.com/ca/en/sale/ (The REAL Roots site!)
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

my mom clicked on the link through facebook ad and spent 100 bucks, she did end up getting a package with a fake pair of raybans even though what she ordered was 2 purses, obviously this is a scam, i wish she had of told me before she ordered, but old people get scammed sometimes, trying to figure out what i can do, obviously there will be no way to get a refund from the faceless chinese corp that send the package out, but im wondering what if any my options are for going after facebook, im sure the chances of getting a dime back are slim to none, still bullshit that fake ads on a platform like facebook with so many old people using it scammed my mom out of 100bucks.

To BrandonP43278: This happened to me and I disputed the charges on my credit card with my credit card company. They will investigate the charges and work to get my $100 refunded. I ordered 3 Roots purses and received a fake pair of Ray Ban sunglasses. I have signed my form to say goods not received (the purses) and then sent a further note stating that I received fake sunglasses from this Chinese company in Shanghai.

It's very frustrating but you need to dispute the charge with your bank.

Man... scammers are too cheap to pay for a better domain....

.club is only a buck
Do you not have anything else to do rather than argue with strangers on the internet
Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

Hi there,

Just report it via whois or abuse to the registrar and they usually shut it down. Also reach out to Roots legal and abuse team...

I could not understand why I received a pair of fake RayBan sunglasses. Now I know why. I ordered the roots bags also, but cancelled my card an hour later when I realized I had been scammed. I checked with visa if my card was charged, they said it was not, I cancelled my card right then and asked them to put a stop payment on the charge.Cibc put the charge through two days later anyway, even though the card was void. Now I am still battling, lesson learned, stay off Facebook.

I got fished in royally! Ordered 5 pairs of Roots footwear, charging it to my credit card. When I contacted the vendor about when it would be shipped, they replied that it was on its way and they even gave me a tracking number. Kept checking the tracking and finally it said the parcel had been delivered to my home. No big box of footwear came; I received a crappy pair of Oakley knock-off sunglasses. Contacted the seller again and they said they would "investigate" but it was an error by the shipping company! What BS! Will be pursuing a refund of my $151 through my credit card company. Feel very sheepish, as I am not usually one to get scammed.

Whew! Thank goodness I came in here and saw all your comments!!

These scams are up at it again! Their “Roots” website looks completely legit! I don’t know how come the brand is not going after them legally!

They are now using:

https://www.rootsushop.com/store/

Thanks God, their scam website was not able to charge my bank card! I almost lost $400! FB sucks!!

Exactly That’s how I sniffed it otherwise my wife would have done the transaction, she couldn’t and showed me why the payment is not getting through. believe me these sites r too good to be true and prices r very enticing.
