I just have a question. Today, I was at Futureshop @ Heartland and I picked up POTC 1,2,3 bluray. All were priced @ 19.99. After going to the register, on of them were 34.99 and the other 2 was 29.99. I mentioned SCOP and they denied being part of it. I was just @ Bestbuy earlier that day and they had little cards by the register, FS didnt. So am I actually right? Or I understood SCOP wrong?

They gave it to me for 19.99.. But from what I've read, Im suppose to get $10 off every unique UPC code. So am I suppose to get the 3 for 9.99 each? Or it doesn't apply to Blurays?

If Future Shop adheres to the SCOP, then yes you should have got them each for $9.99 as they are different product.

I think just can't use the SCOP to get $10 off on the 2nd item of the same product.

as long as the price tag was on the shelf, and not on the items themselves, then yes SCOP should have applied to each individual item.

File a complaint with Futureshop corporate (head office or whatever) and with the scop complaint line 1-866-499-4599 and you should get it resolved within a week or two.

Specifically complain as well about the fact that the cashier denied even participating.

Yes, Future Shop is part of SCOP. Print off this page which lists Signatories to Scanner Accuracy and go back to the store. You will see Best Buy/Future Shop listed. You will also see the retailer's responsibilities such as that they are supposed to have the signs posted at the door and at each register. Note if the items were price stickered with the correct price, then SCOP doesn't apply.

1.So if two different products scanned at wrong price, SCOP applies to each of them and not just one of them?
2. Does SCOP applies to produce? if I bought packman pears and cashier punches in code for bartlett pears (without looking at the code on the fruit), does SCOP applies?

1. Both of them but only for one copy of each.

2. No, has to be the same code as the item you are buying. In that case cashier would just enter the correct code.

i had the same thing happen at FS. i had three kids with me (one a newborn) and the item scanned incorrectly, but i didn't notice that it was scanned improperly til i was in the car, with the three kids in the carseat. i had to go back in, line up at customer service, and get the price corrected. i mentioned the SCOP, but they told me that the only thing they would do for me was to make the change and give me the price difference. i was so p*ssed off at them...
in retrospect i should have asked to speak to a manager.
ugh.

Yesterday, I went to Wal-Mart. I found a pair of pants that I liked. It had no price tag on it. I found another pair that had the same style, same material, different colour, same product line. It had a price tag of $16. When I took to cashier, the one with no price on it scanned $23.46. So I showed the pair that had $16 Price tag to her, So question is:

Would SCOP work with this?

$16-$10=$6

Most of the entertainment dept at FS (but not BB) now has individual price stickers on each item, so if that is the case the SCOP won't apply regardless of what it scans at, you'd just get the loeer price.

No since they are different items. The items have to have the same SKU or UPC.

that is true, and even thought they are the same company...they are operated as 2 seperate companies when it comes to their policies

as for the scop..i have no idea if they adhere to it

Sorry for the bump!

Say Best Buy has an entire stack of items with the wrong tag description on them (HTC Desire Z screen protectors is the label, but HTC Desire HD is the actual product). The HD product is $15 more and no where is an HD label to be seen. The items themselves have no labels.

Desire Z - $19.99
Desire HD - $34.99

What price is to be paid under the SCOP in this case?

SCOP only applies if there is no attached price tag.
