Looks like any existing clients but you can try and call to see if they will let you. I haven't tried with Scotia but at TD, they let me do a product switch and still honoured the FYF and bonus cashback

I got this card recently as part of my CC death combo

This is:
- my backup grocery card after Amex cobalt (Amex poor acceptance)
- this is my gas card (we don't spend too much on gas anyways)
-this covers all my reoccurring payments: telecom, gym memberships, Netflix, even some very random things are covered.
-Finally we have 6 phones in my house, I use this card as insurance on all those phones.

(my combo is Rogers cc for ForEX and everything else, cobalt for food, momentum for above - also have a platinum but that's just for first year perks)

Edit: Anybody know when do they apply the cash back in case I wanted to cancel it after a year?

Edit 2: Dont forget GCR. https://www.greatcanadianrebates.ca/det ... -Infinite/
I got this promo last summer. Rebate applies in November.

From my account details on the website: "You'll receive your annual cash back reward in November."

So bonus cashback after 7 months. Regular cashback schedule in November, assuming I apply and get approved now, therefore in 10 months? Did I get that correctly? Seems like a long wait.

So we should hold on this cc until we our rebate on nov then close the card?

Also does gas gift cards count as grocery?

Sorry, let me clarify my original post.

If you want the full rebate, I think you need to wait until November.

Here is the answer I received from Scotia.

"The 10% bonus cashback was credited to your account, 2-3 month after the offer
end date. As an example:

If you make $2000 in eligible everyday purchases in the Gas Stations and
Grocery Stores category, your cash back earnings will be credited to your
Account as follows:

First, the Cash Back Bonus Rate of 6% x $2000 = $120 will be credited to your
Account within 2-3 months of the Offer End Date.

Secondly, the Cash Back Program Rate of 4% x $2000 = $80 will be credited to
your Account as per the regular cash back payment schedule (November)."

I would think gas gift cards bought at a grocery store would count as groceries.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

How strict are they with applicants with previous accounts? I had this card a year and a half ago (my only product with Scotia) and have since closed it. Can anyone speak from experience? Thank you

Tried calling them and got denied. But not before spending 1 hour and 40 minutes for an operator to talk to. Scotia is a joke.

Is the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite on actual special offer too? Or is that the everyday special offer?
