scrap the old car?

I bought a new car. what am I gonna do with my old car? It's a 2005 Chevy Malibu. It's my everyday car. A little bit oil leaking but runs perfectly, hits 130, 140 km/hr easily. Can't pass safety inspection due to oil leak, repair costs more then car volume. Appreciate any input.

What needs to be fixed? It's weird to fail a safety for a oil leak, usually it's just the gasket or oil pan? Easiest way to get rid of it would be to bring it to a scrapyard and get a few bucks. If you don't feel like driving it they will pick it up but you probably won't get anything for it. You could also toss it on Kijiji for 500$ and be willing to bargain. There's lots of people looking for cheap fixer uppers or parts cars.

Look up your cars value on autotrader and price your car accordingly.

Donate the car to a family member or friend that may be in need for a car. Otherwise sell it, and take whatever you get for it.

Will donating circumvent the typically required safety certification?

This. The headache doesn't seem worth it.

That's up to the new owner. Safety is required if you need to register it again

you may consider donating it to The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
https://www.kidneycar.ca/
They could arrange a towing truck to your place and pick up your vehicle.
You get a tax receipt.
