SD card asking to reformat

0% chance of recovery or is there still a chance? Anyone know a software to attempt this recovery of files?

Thanks

Could be the MBR is corrupt or the flash just died.
You can always try running a recovery software and try to recover the MBR.

There's always a chance.
A better question is how much money you want to throw at the problem.

If it's ultra important, take it to a recovery lab.
If it's not that important try software.

Don't try software before a recovery place if you're going that direction though. It can make it much more expensive.
Do you not have anything else to do rather than argue with strangers on the internet
Nope. That's why I'm on the internet arguing with strangers. If I had anything better to do I'd probably be doing it.

can you acess the drive? for example you add sd card and it pops up:
"needs formating"
leave the notififcation don't close it.
scroll to my pc and see if the drive is mounted and readable

If its ext4 you need a driver in win to acess and see it.

I managed to pull info off with recuva (shout out to Jackrabbit for mentioning that, completely forgot about that program) which was quite a bit. The SD card won't be used again but I also don't know if it did recover everything. Time will let me know.

The most common symptom of cards that die is they default to a read only state first.
