Deal Link:
Posted by RFD but worthy of mention in Hot Deals forum.

I'm pondering the Schwinn Journey 1.0 for $350 (reg. $600).... Thoughts or other recommendations?

=============================
From RFD post

Fitness equipment is back on sale today at Sears.ca. For their one-day sale today, they're keeping it simple with a discount of up to 55% on selected fitness equipments.

Of the deals available today, they are featuring one treadmill, the Pro Form Power 795 Treadmill EARN CASH BACK, that has been discounted by 60%. Today, you can purchase one for only $999.99, instead of its regular price of $2499.99. With this treadmill, you can adjust the incline to 12 percent and the speed to up to 12 mph. In addition to the 24 built-in workout apps, you can also use iFit with this treadmill, thereby gaining you access to Google Maps routes, automatic tracking and tons of workout programs. Just to compare, Amazon.ca has this same treadmill on sale at $1032.74 and reviews on Amazon.com have given this treadmill a 3.9 star out of 5 rating.

If you're not a fan of this particular treadmill, you can still check out other fitness equipment on sale today EARN CASH BACK. Here's a quick look at some of the deals:

I found some basic reviews here: http://reviews.walmart.com/1336/1716449 ... eviews.htm

Also contemplating it as I get a $500 health allowance yearly.

According to this site it's U.S. MSRP is USD799 http://www.treadmilldoctor.com/proform- ... eview-2013

These guys sell it at USD799 and ship to Canada. http://www.treadmill-world.com/proform- ... dmill.html

The Schwinn does look interesting... would have ordered one if I could apply the $50 off $200 code but no luck. :( Only code that worked was the $10 one.

Did a quick search here on RFD and found a $10 off $25 code. Try 941612780.

There is also $20 and $50 off codes (on RFD and on the Sears site)but I could not get them to work with the cycle. Don't know if calling them would make a diff?

Sole f85 is still 2199 now. It was 1899 a couple of weeks back. Guess I'll have to wait a little longer

Hrmmm... the Schwinn is not such a good deal for $350 from Sears after all. It seems this is the same model from Walmart: http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/schwinn-130/6000113791612 but regular price is $346... and free shipping, which makes a huge difference. Also, going through ebates or RFD cashback is 2% for walmart.

The manual for the bike states both 130 and journey 1.0.

I see it all the time, especially on things like treadmills and other so called 'higher end' items stores like Sears and Canadian Tire sells. I was researching treadmills not too long ago, and kept hearing that it was very hard to find a reliable machine (with a person actually using it, not just being used to hang clothes) for less than $1200-$1500, and next to impossible under $1000. IMO this is true when you look at sale prices, not the regular prices.

Don't think you're buying a $2400 machine with the ProForm because of the 'regular' price. It's highly inflated to make it seem like its better quality than it actually is

I would recommend you skip on these "deals" and hit a kijiji or craigslist for good quality used equipment. Go for names like Precor, Landice (treadmills), Life Fitness, Sole and just wait it out for a great deal.

^^ +1...Many people are so desperate to get these 300 lb beasts out of their basements, they'll let them go for a song. Thank goodness I've resisted buying one so far.
