Wow 11.1lbs? If the weight stated in the Sears website is correct, no thanks!

Personally, I would rather pay a little more to get a suitcase that's lightweight, meaning I can take more content rather than just lugging weight of the suitcase itself.

Any recommendations? Looking for a light weight carry-on and check in one.

I had a bad experience with a Heys suitcase from Costco where it cracked at the wheel within the first year of owning it (good thing for Costco's return policy). I look up reviews of this suitcase thinking perhaps it might be a better built line than the Costco ones, and the lone review on Amazon.com features a picture of a crack that is almost identical to the crack that was in mine:

The price certainly is right, but if it's not going to last more than a few trips, I would rather buy it from a place where I can at least return it with very little to no hassle.

For more $, you get a 7.8lbs 32":

I bought the 28" B-Lite-R from Bentley. It was about $205 after tax. And I got 3x Aeroplan points too during a special promo.

The Samsonite website price (currently they have discount) is not the lowest price these can go. Check the Bay / Bentley.

To make it more apple-to-apple comparison, this is a Samsonite hardcase 29", 9.9lbs:

With all these said, its just my personal preference for a lightweight heavy duty 'cloth' suitcase. For a all around hardcase suitcase, $106 is a pretty good deal.

^Love the B-Lite too, soft cases are more forgiving if you tend to over pack and for normal wearing too, I find.

Anyway, if people are going to Sears, check out the Samsonite Base Hits series too, which is cheaper and a bit lighter than B-Lite and on sale again this week.

Also, don't forget to bring a print of the 20% off coupon to use in stores - http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-749547-1 ... liate_comj
