$13,299.99 CAD for the body only... add the lens, a large, fast SD cards, extra batteries, and a beefy computer with a large SSD to process the images... and you're probably spending enough to buy a decent car.

... and I'd still be a crappy photographer Face With Tears Of JoyCrying Face

Jonas Rask (Fuji Photographer and he also shoots their product shots) put up a good writeup with some really nice images (taken from Jpg not RAW) from the camera:

Question is, will it end the FF is better than APS-C cause the sensor is bigger debate ??

...I know it wouldn't be it does put things into persecutive.

The GFX series is smaller than standard medium format, it would be at 0.7 if I remember right.

The Sony sensor used in the GFX is 48.64mm x 40.38 mm vs 53 mm x 40 mm sensor (digital Hasselblad) vs 56 mm x 42 mm (film Hasselblad H1).

So, it is smaller but not by a lot, the 0.7 number is probably comparing to a more square MF film size.

I heard the choice of glass is not great - you get faster glass for FF, even accounting for the crop factor. The camera is certainly great for certain things, but definitely not as versatile as FF.

You can adapt all kind of lenses on this body. The most popular right now is the EF adaptor with autofocus, most Canon prime lenses cover the bigger sensor.

I have the GFX 50R and mostly adapt Canon lenses but also do old 35mm Minolta lenses as well. It is pretty awesome for certain things but not great for others. I don't need the 102 MP but would have loved the PDAF and IBIS in a smaller, lower MP body (at a lower price).

Same, I am hoping that they release a 50MP version so I can keep one of my kidneys.

You need a 100TB HD, 12-core processor to process those images.

Oh and a 100 pound tripod.

Agreed that you'd need a hefty processor. Lightroom is going to chug with this. Although Fuji is aligned with Capture One, so I wonder how that system does when processing this.

As for the tripod... nah. It's basically the same size as a Canon 1DX or Nikon D5. Even smaller if you remove the viewfinder and shoot with the screen or tethered:

I hope so. I know someone who goes on and on about how his FF is "better" and how aps-c is just unbearable in comparison...

This would hopefully shut him up.

Nice camera but this will be overkill for even 99% of pros.

If one wants a Hasselblad for relatively cheap, the new Hasselblad X1D II 50C is announced and it'll only cost $ 5,750 US.

It looks nicer than the Fuji's GFX, in my point of view, but I rather get a GFX camera for the more affordable lenses and the fact you can mount all kind of legacy or FF lenses on it. Hasselblad has leaf shutter on the lenses so no go for adapting other stuffs.

The startup time for the Blad scares me. It takes around 5 seconds from the moment you turn on the camera to take a shot.

And the price is indeed very attractive but the lenses? Ouch
