Shaw VS Telus and resellers in Vancouver

Hey
I'm wondering if anyone has any insight here.

Resellers for Shaw internet seem much more common and cheaper. In the past I've had big slowdowns on Shaw during peak hours and have stayed away. Is this still an issue? I spoke to Shaw and they say directly with Shaw would be FTTN which resolved the issue, is this the case with resellers?

I'm considering a resold Telus plan from Vmedia which they call FTTN but if I can get the same from a Shaw reseller I would save a few $ a month.

Thanks!

North Vancouver
Be careful witrh Shaw. We have Shaw here in North Vancouver (Lynn Valley), BC and are on their unlimited 300 plan. Despite replacement of the Hitron router, numerous visits by Shaw techs, etc. we never have more than 100. We usually average 60-70 and today we are at 32. Shaw reps have told us that the issue has nothing to do with our computers or the modem, but rather something to do with the infrastructure in our neighbourhood which will eventualy get updated. This is bull**** as the problem has been like this for over 2 years now. We are tired of waiting and now that our contract is up, we are in the processing of dumping Shaw for Telus and hope things will be better soon.
Basil: Well, may I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically -?
