Tax-free? How's everyone's experience with shipping from them through customs?

In layman's terms, what does this thing do? Buy now think later?

If you are listening to very high-quality audio files through tidal or another service, it will "unfold" those files and provide to your expensive audio gear in the best quality possible

TLDR: If you don't know what it does, you probably don't need it

It's a digital to analog converter. Connect anything with a digital out to it so this does the analog conversion instead of the built in one.

Depending what your budget is, I got a Topping E30 on Aliexpress for $172 and I'm really enjoying it.

Not sure if he's aware, but he'll need an amp with that. That would double the cost.

He can go cheap budget with a FiiO K3 dac/amp combo that would work well for most headphones under 100Ohms.

Otherwise, schiit stack, JDS atom stack, Topping L30/E30 are all great "budget" combos.

when you click the link it shows 594 something USD first then jumped to 600 something which is 889. under 800 would be good for this. on audiomart people sell this for 800 to 875 and sell 1 to 2 days. i have much higher end stuff but this one measures very well and a lot of people speak highly of it. after playing audio for a while i still find the higher end chinese stuff best value for money. i got a chord hugo 1 which i use a lot for about the same price as this. i definitely not getting rid of it any time soon, there is something about it's sound just want to make me listen more.

I listen music from Spotify, now I change it to Deezer to have more Hi-Fi music.
Wireless is nice but the specs are not, only up to 96kHz sampling rate whereas these chi-fi ones do 196/384khz.

Not claiming most ears will hear the difference but value for money.

I have a tube as well and currently have my Chromecast Audio plugged directly into it, I'm also considering a DAC to go with the Chromecast and been looking at Topping but have my eyes set on SMSL as it seems like they're the only ones with two optical inputs, one for my TV and one for chromecast audio

Human hearing is limited to 20kHz so sampling above 40kHz is overkill.

Dog is limited to 65kHz, so 196kHz sampling is overkill for dogs.
