Shipping car from Vancouver to Toronto

Hi all,

I am planning to do a road trip from Toronto to Vancouver in my own SUV, is it better to do a one way rental or drive my own car (i have Acura RDX 19- 3rd gen) and ship it back ? What are the best methods to ship the car, I was reading about CN rail. How much would it cost? Has any one done it?

I don't understand the situation. Can you explain a bit further?

TFX or Thorsons are well recommended and do exclusively enclosed transport.

You could do open transport but I wouldn't since it's a long trip but up to you. Personally, I'd get quotes for enclosed transport vs renting and see what the difference is.

How you going to get back to Toronto.

If you have 5 occupants. I personally believe it's cheap and better to rent. Than using your personal car.

I used SeaRail 20 years ago to ship a car from Ottawa to Vancouver; please note SeaRail was brought out by some other company since. It costed around $1,000 at that time. They collected the fee before the shipping date. They sent a flat bed truck to pick up my car at my home on the scheduled date. I removed all personal items from the car as I had to provide them a copy of the car key. It took approx 10 days. I picked the car in their Vancouver compound. Because i was picking up the car on Saturday, the staff/coordinator left the car outside of their lock gate. After picking the car I drove it to Victoria. The process was smooth at the time.
