But I'm confused...why are they mismatched? Do I only wear one at a time? Lol...

These last 6months of my life have seen some extremely monumental changes in perspectives on footwear.

I used to go to DSW & and find some mercanti fiorentini $200 shoes and think they were Gods gift to man, hoping to catch them on a 40% off week-end discount opportunity.

I now will refuse to spend even $50 if I ever saw those same shoes on sale. I am now very much into goodyear welted, quality crafted footwear (in the affordable sub $350range), with a particular interest in vintage brands. Even the Made in the US Red Wings & Thorogood boots are my minimum for boots, Allen Edmonds, etc.

Those brown ones were of my pre-awakening days., Broletto, cheap made in china/made in india. I think they go for $120'ish at DSW or Nordstrom Rack or Saks off - I forget exactly where. I've been selling all off my pre-awakening items, I think I'm down to maybe just one or two left overs. These ones were, though stylistically very nice, just not quality based - so they got the boot.

I do have some various pre-worn (but also some new) shoes in various sizes for sale, if anybody is interested. Message me with your cell# & size & I'll MMS you what I have. Can courier to GTA and anywhere in Canada no problem(I use freightcom, RFD hook-up ;) ). Prices from $50-$250'ish. I've started sourcing quality second hand shoes & selling them for shitsngiggles. I LOVE finding our own Canadian Vintage legacy items, Dack's, Hartt. Simply fantastic to get those puppies back in circulation and out of dark, dusty deceased relatives' trunks and attics. Red Wings, AE, Wolverine 1000mile boots, FRYE, to name a few., vintage Bostonians, DACK's, etc etc.

I currently have from a Sz 3D to 13D.

Folks, buy the best quality shoes you can afford, even if you have to save or stretch a little. That is where you’ll find Value. They cost money, they cost money because they save money.

Take for example this pair of Edward Green, Galway boots. They’re not inexpensive by any means. But the value is that they can be re-crafted over and over. You’re in your shoes all day. It pays to invest in them. Take care of your shoes, and they’ll take care of you.

Did the whole Jermyn St shoe store tour last week, C&J, Edward Green, Lobb, etc.

Went inside Lobb and it was like Mecca. Met the bald shoemaker in the video posted above. Ran into Christopher Nolan and his wife doing shoe shopping, shook his hand and had a short chat with him. Super surreal.

Can anyone recommend a good cobbler in the Kitchener Waterloo area that does good resolve work? Ie they remove the old welt stitching and reuse the same stitching holes?

I think I heard of that London one on the style forum. I wonder if you can book appointments and put down a deposit so you can get the resolve done on the same day.

Where does everyone get their high quality shoe trees?

These on amazon are pretty good and they come with a nice shoe horn but when I ordered a few they all varied in size lol... now the price is $40

https://www.amazon.ca/Fintoco-Premium-D ... 213&sr=8-8

The Allen Edmonds ones seem good but they are missing a size range and they’re specified as women’s sizes for some reason.

Coakley is a busy guy, I don't know if you could ever do same day lol. But hey, he might have concerige level service.

*high* from what aspect? Quality of Cedar? Lasting? Brass plated hardware? Or just brand name? There's a guy in town here to who sells Saphir shoe trees for $80. I'm content to thrift them all.

After I bought my one set of 6 from Staples last year, and one MW from Marshall's for 10.99, It has now long since been my approach that I pay no more than $7.99 and have found AE's with the full heel, to lasted full, to all kinds of uniquely engineered German/US/Canadian models. It has turned into somewhat of a hobby in and of itself. If you want to refresh the aromatic aspect, a quick sanding with some 400grit or so will expose the raw Cedar making the brand spanking new.

Cedar sellers have never been more excited at the resurgence of mensware accessories. From shoe shine boxes, to the fully lasted boot trees. Truly works of art.

In the states, everybody loves their woodlore trees. They currently have BOGO. If you have a Merika friend, ship them there and wait till they come back home to drop them off. Save the cross-border shipping & taxes. Just have to wait.
