I'm thinking of buying this shoe adapter so that I can make use of our older HVL-F42AM flash on a potential RX100 M3 or M4 purchase.

A reviewer did mention it worked on his RX100 II so I'm hoping the shoe on the M3 and M4 are identical to the M2.

Using the adapter for the Sony HVL-F20AM Flash on my Sony RX 100 II and the new Sony Alpha A7.
No issues what so ever.
I do think the quality of the adapter is fine.

Thanks Broli's Mom for your input. I think I actually read about that but forgot all about it as I have only begun to look at higher-end point and shoot so we can retire our older a350k. :)

yeah, the Mk2 is the only one that has hotshot unless you buy a Canon or Panasonic.
