The quality of these bags seems to have gone down. Bought it for my kid last year it did not last a couple of months before it was ripped at a place or two.

The exact same model of this bag? The quality seems very good, no loose stitching so far and it's quite sturdy.

Every name brand that I have bought directly from China was just as good or maybe came out of the same factory

I just bought a vent holder for my cell phone. Same unit, same packaging same quality

They aren't made to withstand the abuse and neglect of a kid, though my son also has a Swiss Gear bag on wheels for his school stuff and he hasn't managed to destroy it... yet

it's still cheaper at shop.ca with coupons i paid $37 for each backpack. I've had swissgear backpacks and this is unmatched in quality. you can tell by the pictures how good the material is. the bag also has some heft to it, looks like it can take a beating

yeah it's quite heavy lol but it has sooo many compartments and really thick padding that makes up for it :D
