Edit: after re-reading my post almost a month later, I didn't understand it anymore. I said Wow! because the last sentence "Stupid subscriptions." Contradicts the first one.

Interestingly, Shopper+ has another program where if your cumulative spend with them is $200 in a year, you get personal free shipping coupons every quarter plus other general 20% off coupons.

I guess they are trying different ways to encourage sales.

Recently however in certain instances I've found the pricing from Monoprice to be comparable or possibly cheaper for certain items even if you consider the USD exchange and no free shipping from Monoprice (at least in an instance I was looking for some Keystone jacks and wall plates).

May be this is where market forces should work right? If people stop buying due to shipping costs or subscription model and buy elsewhere, this should come back to bite them. But large established enterprises rarely seem to succumb to market changes unless something huge disrupts them.

Personally i might buy something there once every 15 months so this is an ice cold deal for me. The main thing i buy from them = cables and cables generally have a pretty lengthy lifespan (plus in their case, a lot of them have lifetime warranty, which means i shouldnt need to buy again until i need something different).
