i saw it at a store and its $499.99....Plus i have a 20x points offer combined with redeeming 200,000 points....will essentially make the tv cost $200...

is this a good deal?
Do you mean you'll only be paying $200 out of pocket, or do you mean the TV will only cost $200 after points are taken into account?

You can redeem 200,000 points for a $300 rebate meaning $200 out of pocket plus taxes on $500 about $75 for a total out of pocket of $275 minus $60 back in points ($200 X 30%).

But don't forget that points = real money that could be exchanged for milk, bread, etc.

Some people treat points as if it was worthless. You have to calculate. How much would a similar TV would cost you at Walmart or Costco with an easy return policy...

What's the screen resolution? FHD (1920x1080) or HD (1366x768)? It is available in either.

EDIT: NM. I found it in the last SDM sale thread from August. it's 1366x768...bummer.

Maybe they will allow bonus redemption.
I posted about this a couple hours ago in discussing the XBox pre-order:
wearysky wrote: The test version of the PS5 pre-order page for Shoppers leaked yesterday (shoppers-drug-mart-playstation-5-bluray ... r-2403584/) - they don't take any payment at pre-order time, just your name and contact info. So assuming they handle the XBox the same way, it seems like it's a no. You'll have to hope that there's a bonus redemption event when you pick up your pre-order and pay for it. :)

I have not done the calculation, but is the bonus redemption or 20x offer, which is the better deal? Can they be combined? Need to make a decision soon.

Im still unsure and want to avoid clawbacks.
Someone mentioned on pp. 15 that you can redeem the promo many times, but the app coupon states limit 1.

I already redeemed once and it still is on the app. Im just paranoid to redeem a 2nd time for stuff i dont need and get a clawback in points...

Is it worth it to use up a bunch of points on that Acer laptop? Kid needs something for virtual school and I can't seem to find anything to use up my points on.

How old is the kid?

Shoppers is a drugstore first. It's not the best place to buy a laptop to begin with even if it's on sale during a redemption event.
There are too many variable to tell you what to do but personally, I would rather buy a good used laptop.

Not being able to find something big to buy at Shoppers is not a good reason to waste points on something that you could get for less money elsewhere.

Compare A and B after everything is calculated: how much you pay in $$$ + how much you pay in points with a value of 1,000 points = $1. And don't forget that at shoppers, you pay the taxes on the sale price, not just on the $$$ you pay out of pocket.

A. Buy the Acer with points.
B. Buy the Acer elsewhere and you still have your PC points.

As I wrote earlier, points = real money that can always be redeemed for milk, bread and whatever is on sale at Shoppers.

I got a Switch with the point redemption and had a 20x point promo. I did this before while having a 20x point offer and got 20x the points on the surplus of $300 (eg. $350 earned me $50 * 15 * 20 points). I had the same situation with the Switch today and was planning to buy two games while I was there. The cashier told me this wouldn't work and to do the games on a separate purchase. She then wasn't able to give me the 20x point promo on the two games because of course the offer did work on the first purchase.

Just a lesson to anyone in a similar situation, don't let these people convince you of something that you know isn't true.

Yep, huge turn over of Shoppers cashiers = lack of training.
The pay must suck.
