$4.39 X 3 = $13.17 - $3.95 (20 X the points) = $9.22 minus 3,500 points = $5.72 that's about $1.91 per can.
Yeah but you need to spend another $37 bucks to get the 20x points. I spend $12 this morning...eggs, milk, bacon.

cpfan wrote: Would love to see your math on this. Here's what I think would happen. Of course you could buy 3 cans of soup and hit the $50 with something else

4.39 x 12 cans = 52.68
30% in points is 15.80 plus the 3500 point offer (I think it's 3500 pts whether you spend $10 or $50 on soup)
So 52.68 - 15.80 - 3.50 = 33.38 or 2.78/can
Yes, I was implying buying something else to reach the $50 spend level and planing to buy only 3 Chunky as I think it's a "meh" deal.
I don't know but I would assume that it's 3,500 points per $10 purchase but someone would have to confirm that.

One can = about 2/3 of your recommended daily intake of sodium.

But the Health section is in the other forum. ;)

That does suck.
It is even better to get them on amazon($2.00 per can, they even lowered it last night to $1.90) and have the amazon driver hall up 12 cans to my door (or even 24 cans like they did when the purtian beef stew deal was on for $1 per can last year) and not need to spend the gas nor the standing in line then hauling this 25 pound load to my car to load in the trunk.
Sometime it is better to just not care about saving 2 cents and use common sense when companies like amazon can afford to use the leg power and pay all the logistics for us and just put it into their price. If they even do that now.

Confirmed, Just bought Chunky at $3.99 at Pharmaprix (Shoppers in Québec).

$4.39 must be Ontario or in the West?

It's the ready to serve soups that are $1.77/can limit 4. After 4, $1.99.

IMO, it's a "meh" deal.
It has not been proven yet if $20 gets you 7,000 points, $30 gets you 10,500 points, etc.
It applies to Chunky soups, not the Ready to serve kind.
Judge for yourself if it's a deal or not.

Thanks...then I have to wait until someone here can confirm that you get the 3500 points per each $10 or just get once only whether you spend $10 or $20 or $30

Where is the chunky soup sold for $1.99 this weekend anyway? No Frills?

Looks like the base price is too high. I might check out my local sdm later. If you are desperate for some in the short term, Loblaws has an offer of 2k points for every $6 on the front page of their flyer and each can is $2. That's likely a much more straightforward offer.

Eightdays wrote: Shoppers is having an upcoming sale on assorted Campbell’s soups and V8 Juice where you get 3500 Points per $10 spent. If you combine that with the 20X points event on Saturday (or your own personal spend offer that comes throughout the week), it works out to 6500 Points for every $10 spent.

Example:

$50 spent on Campbell’s/V8 on Saturday 20x:

17,500pts + 15,000pts = 32,500pts

So it comes out to about $17.50 out of pocket for $50 of soup. Now obviously Shoppers doesn’t always have the best prices and I am not sure of what the prices are going to be like during this event. The thing is the prices here hardly matter. If you were to use those points during the monthly bonus redemption at the $300 for 200,000pts level, they’re worth 1.5x their value. The points would be worth $48.75, so a net cost of $1.25 for $50 of soup. During the upcoming Black Friday sale next month and random 40% back events, PC points are worth about 1.6x their value at the top level. Then it becomes an actual money maker. $50 of soup bought now works out to $52 to spend for Black Friday, a net gain of $2.

If you have or find any Campbell’s vendor coupons it’s even more lucrative, because Shoppers treats that just like regular money spent for points calculations. Keep in mind that when redeeming, even during bonus redemptions, certain products that offer bonus points back will still award you those points when you are redeeming. Not personal offers, but store/flyer offers where it’s awarded on each unit of product bought. For example, certain fragrances will sometimes award 15,000-30,000 points back. Those points can then be used next bonus redemption and the cycle continues. For that reason it can be particularly difficult to put a value on PC Points. I have been able to get over double value before and get at least $2/1000pts.

Is this not literally $50 out of pocket and 32,500 pts. on an app? It's not like I have 32.50 back to spend anywhere outside the pc points ecosystem.

Points are like cash at Shoppers if you buy things that are similarly priced when compared to elsewhere like (price regulated) milk, bread or things that are on special and that you would buy anyway.

Plus, about once a month, you can take advantage of a minimum 30% bonus when you redeem points during a bonus redemption event.

This should be a part of a larger strategy to achieve the minimum spend. You can throw some other items in there that you consume or is on sale, you don't HAVE to buy $50 in just soup lol

Shoppers won't even have that many on the shelf!

I understand how it works. I'm refuting the statement of 17.50 out of pocket. It takes $50 from your pocket to get this promotion and be involved in any future promotions. If someone without a pc optimum account tried this it wouldn't work. Also, thank you for affirming what I said. The points only work within the optimum ecosystem. They won't do much for you if you want a donut from Tim's. You're basically getting your items and a coupon for future purchases. It's self deception.

So lazy.

I should have just scanned the 13ish cans and see how many points I would have earned.

I just don't really want to tell them $4 is a good regular price.

I think I would be less concerned if it was $3

Today it's $4 and soon enough Loblaws start thinking $4 is a fair price at No Frills and the other players fall in line.

Longprocess wrote: WARNING to anyone trying this offer: The offer says "Spend $10 get 3500 points". In my experience, at SDM these offers will only give 3500 points regardless of how much you spend over $10. It does not say "for every $10 spent".

These offers do not work in the same way as product flyer offers such as another one this week "get 1000 points" per Tide pods purchased where each product will give 1000 points individually.
Just to repeat from earlier in the thread - in my experience these offers do not work as "for every $10" spent. I would wait to try this offer until someone confirms that it works.
