If you think there tracking your heart rate every time you purchase something you're very much over reacting. They can barely roll out self checkout properly lmao. Plus they're already tracking your spending habits via your Optimum card and credit card number, they couldn't care less if your heart spikes when you buy that hungry man, because you're literally already buying it.


They want to you to use the health app simply so they can try to sell you on paying for virtual therapy or virtual visits to nutritionists and other things not covered by OHIP.

The heart rate is for tracking your performance on their fitness programs, they have several free programs to help people become less sedentary or even train for 5k/10k runs.

It helps to learn about what the app actually does instead of looking at a permission list and then making up wildly stupid theories.
