Is the Fire HD10 32GB is 2021 edition or old one. Can we buy this online or will it be instore only.

The picture of the Fire in the flyer is the new 2021 edition. The front facing camera is on the long side as opposed to the short side like the previous generation. However, they could be selling old stock and using a newer picture.

I find it very hard to find shoppers that have fire10s in stock. I tried during the BF sale . No luck. Now I'm sitting on 1.5M in points .. not looking for 20x events.

Its likely old and new are the same price and being honest, im guessing a good number of employees wouldnt know the difference. After all their job often doesnt revolve around tech so they likely just know its a tablet and thats it. If you are buying this from SDM, make sure you know the difference between the appearance so you dont end up with an older model.

Fire OS is forked from Android. You should be able to install the Google Play store and remove the Amazon bulk on most versions, you can check XDA.

You can also just put Lineage OS on it if you really hate Fire OS.

It look like the 10 inch one is latest generation. I found it and its 11th generation says on cover which look like latest 2021 edition.

If u use chrome browser alot and don't need to sideload apks.. Then get lenovo.. Otherwise stick with fire tablet.. Both use same CPU I think.. Battery life prolly same too

Fire tablet has microsd slot.. Lenovo 10e does not

My experience : got this tablet really cheap from Amazon, decent build and screen, but plasticky as you'd expect for the price.
Despite unckecking the "link to account" box, when I powered it on, it went into a stupid loop, between account log in and wireless setup...took 20 min or so until I broke the loop and booted WITHOUT an account.

Enthusiastically I then proceeded to install Fire Toolbox and realized I can't change the launcher to may fave Nova, because that function was removed in FireOS 7.3.2.2 which my tablet came with. I cursed thoroughly and moved on to clean up the bloated Amazon crap and install Google services and play store...that went well.

What didn't go well was using the apps which are not designed for FireOS and will misbehave (notifications, third party email clients pull, etc).

Returning the POS as for MY use case (wanted Slack, Zoom, Teams, to casually work without being stuck in front of the computer) it's unusable. Team, Zoom and Slack voice calls (let alone video) are choppy and awful.

For browsing the net and watching YouTube and Netflix it will do...for everything else, don't bother..

I ended up with the Lenovo Duet from Staples and after a bit of tinkering to sideload apps, it's perfect. Better battery life too, better build, more space and memory...not to mention the keyboard and cover.

Hope this helps someone.
To be or not to be...where is the question?
