[Shoppers Drug Mart] PCO offer YMMV - receive 40% back on redemption - DEC 7 ONLY

Check your offers, I debated posting this as I know it’s always a YMMV scenario! Please don’t hate ... please don’t downvote. I didn’t make a misleading post, this is a great deal if you have it.

Bring on the debate of which is better, redemption bump up like last weekend or this offer. Benefit to this offer is you can redeem up to 500,000 and get 200,000 back!

Didn't get it. Was hoping for it cause I was short of 250k of points and didn't redeem during BF. Thanks anyway Op.

I’ll pray extra hard to the PlayStation Gods tonight! Here’s hoping I can find a PS5 tomorrow! What other things would be good purchases considering most store were probably wiped clean this past weekend and week?

Kind of a noob with PC Optimum points.

I have 160K points and looking to purchase the Dyson Hair Dryer for $500.

Currently, with the $160 off in points, I can purchase it for $404.99 with taxes and get back 101.700 points back.

I'll assume there's not much value in waiting for this promotion tomorrow since the current 20x points promotion ends today so in reality, I would only be getting back 40% of 160K points (+ the standard 5K points for this transaction)?

Also, is there any value in purchasing PC Insiders for such an expensive item?

TIA

Bought this identical item last night, as was on my wife's Christmas list!

PC Insiders won't make a difference for this item, because it will already be eligible for free shipping on account of price.

I'd suggest saving your PCO points, because redeeming them will reduce your 20x points return (if you don't redeem, you get back a total of 150k points because of 20x ... if you use your points, you'll be reduced to about 100k). So... may be better to save & redeem when there isn't a promo on? Just my two cents! :)

I think this is a bad advice. It's always better to redeem points and get 30-40% back then spending cash and get the same 30-40% in points.

Why would you spend cash and get points when you can spend points and get the same points?

this is even better than the bonus redemption during black friday 250,000 for $400 = 625 points per $1
vs 40% back 240,000 for $400 = 600 points per $1

You don't get the same points, though... if you spend all cash, you get 150k PCO points. If she uses all her available 160k PCO points + cash, she'll get back 100k PCO points. If you often use your points at Loblaw-brand store on groceries, its better to spend all cash now at SDM, maximize points return due to 20x bonus on an expensive item & use those now 310k PCO points later on groceries/whatever that isn't subject to promo.

But... if you don't shop much at Loblaw or whatever, maybe getting $160 off right now is worth it! :)

I don't have the offer for 40% back in points.
Instead, I can get 25,000 points for every $1000 spent at Wellwise. Yay for 2.5% savings!

Just checked and I have this offer. I have 280,000 points.

So let's say a miracle happens and they have an Xbox Series X in stock tomorrow. I buy it for 600$ (+taxes=~690$). I use 280,000 points for 280$ off so 690-280=410$ paid. Then I get 40% of 280,000 points added back to my account. Is that correct? So 112,000 points at a value of 110$. 410-110=300$.

Is that accurate?

Compared to the bonus redemption, where 250,000 points were worth 400$, the value is pretty similar. Right (except for the fact that the last 110$ value is in future dollars off rather than immediate dollars off)? Or am I missing something?

Thanks.

With 280k pt, the 250k for 400 off redem event is better but it'd prnly be another year to see it again.

Spend 500k pt with 40% back offer would be the best deal to get ps5 digital. Got my ps5 disc with 40% back offer without know the limit for single transaction redem maxed out at 500.

40% back offer is the best and beats the 250k points for $400 offer

In certain situations it’s better, in many it is not.

Didn’t get it neither. Do they offer it to people with lesser points?
